I was lucky enough to celebrate my 21st birthday last year in WDW. I drank around the world starting at 11 am the day I turned 21. We ate dinner that night at Coral Reef which was very nice, then we went to downtown disney that night and went to Paradiso since tequila is my favorite :D Then later that night we hit the pool bar at Pop until about 2 in the morning. Sadly the next day we had to leave so I didn't get to do anything that day. My two favorite drinks in Epcot are the Margaritas in Mexico with all three flavors, and the orange slush drink from France. My advice if you're going to drink around the world in one day, go slow, start when WS first opens so you have more time, drink water between countries, enjoy some snacks along the way. Have fun!!!

That's actually funny, ever since my first trip to Disney World last year I've told my girlfriend on my 21st I want to have a drink at every country in the World Showcase. For me, I would have to go after fall is over because I do landscaping and I can't miss any days. But, I'd say do that it seems like fun, and the Grand Floridian idea seems great too I think you might just have given me an idea.

My daughter had the same request and we turned it into a trip with her best friends and the family.

What to do? Well, no 21st birthday trip would be complete without a little trip around the resort monorail loop. This is the little-publicized Magic Kingdom alternative to Epcot's much discussed drinking challenge, and is much easier and less expensive! Favorite concoctions at the Contemporary, the Poly and the Grand Floridian in the late afternoon followed by a return to the Magic Kingdom for the fireworks and parade is a great way to end the day.

Epcot and its boardwalk deserve a day unto themselves.

Are you a Potter head? If so, make time for a trip to the Wizarding World and you won't be disappointed. You could even stroll over to City Walk for the evening after the parks close.

Have fun!

Well first I had a late breakfast/early lunch before I started so I wasn't drinking on an empty stomach. I also had a huge water bottle in my backpack that I kept refilling so I could drink water inbetween each drink. I started in Mexico with a fiesta margarita (one of my favorite drinks in Epcot). In Norway I had a beer from the beer cart. In China I had a Canto Loopy (vodka and cantaloupe juice). In Germany I had another beer. In Italy I had a Peach Bellini (I don't like Limoncello which is their other speciality and I would not suggest drinking that during your trip around the world). In America I had another beer and I grabbed a sandwich in the Liberty Inn and relaxed for a little while. Then in Japan I had sake for the first time, it was okay but I was getting bloated with all the beer and thats really the only other drink they serve. In Morocco I had a daiquiri which was pretty good. In France I had the Grand Mariner Orange Slush (my 2nd favorite drink). In the UK I had the Welsh Dragon (peach schnapps, melon liqueur, creme de menthe, orange juce and pineapple juice). And finally in Canada I had a Torontopolitan (vodka, orange jucie, chambord and cranberry juice) It took about 4 hours to go from Mexico to Canada, we stopped inbetween to shop, relax and enjoyed a few shows/rides. We ate a nice dinner at Coral Reef (i forget the name of the drink I had there) then we continued our, well, my drinking binge at DTD.

Mail or take your own unopened bottles of liquor. Standards, Rum/vodka/gin/tequila, you will save bookoo $$.

Get 2-4 big empty bottles of gatorade. Get some kool aid or fruit juice for mixing and make your drinks before you leave the resort. If its going to be along day, use empty H2O bottles to store extra vodka/rum for those dole whips.

Security just assumes its gatorade + water. So its nothing out of the ordinary to them.

Putting on my “speaking from experience parent hat”

Instead of drinking your way around the world, which usually concludes with vomiting, dehydration, the feeling that your head is going to explode and possible alcohol poisoning.
Might I suggest that for the same amount of money you would be able to enjoy a performance of Cirque du Soleil followed by a nice dinner at the California Grill concluding the evening by viewing wishes from the roof of the Contemporary. As legal drinking is the norm for a 21st birthday you will still be able to enjoy a cocktail or two. Take it from one old enough to be your grandfather that quality not quantity is the key.

I know the Grand Floridian is a top notch place, but I would think maybe for a group of 20somethings you would be better off saving some cash and staying at a place with more options for fun at night like one of the hotels on or near the boardwalk. Or maybe if you really want save a bit of cash go with the Coranodo Springs and party at the Rix lounge.
