On a somewhat related note...

Disneyland is moving forward with their plans to reopen their sub lagoon with a new "Nemo" theme.
A sub was parked outside the caves near the monorail station, bearing a sign which reads "We're Imagineering a New Idea".

Good for them! :sohappy:

I've been thinking about this for about a week now, how can it be feasible to reopen subs in Disneyland, and tear them down at WDW? Um, where's the logic there?

Bald Mountain and Fire Mountian?? I know I'm kinda new, but do you mean the villians mountain water ride that has been talked about for a while. I personally think that would be a pretty cool ride, but thats just me. What are a couple of the other ideas floating around for dark rides or these mountain concepts.

Well, the lagoon at the Magic Kingdom is open space. They really can do anything they want there. The lagoon at Disneyland is criscrossed with monorail track, old people mover track (now aparently overgrown with vegitation in some areas) and Autopia track. They realy can't construct anything "new" in that space and have to work with what they have.

I was hoping WDW would do something like that. Sounds like a wonderful idea to me. I guess we will just have to wait and see what they are going to do at the 20K site at WDW.

Actually, the smart money says that WDI is anxious to get hold of that site...but is waiting for management to decide to spend some money, and what to spend it on.

Yeah, like a couple meet and greets with gift shops at the exits, a bunch of ODVs and some pin trading stands.

I'm banking on somewhere in the ride there will be dancing dollar signs and music ripping off IASW singing "It's a Eisner World after all, destroying classics all in all.. it's a Eisner world...." :fork:

Bald and Fire Mountain are two different attractions. Bald Mountain is essentially the Villians ride, although if it was put in Fantasyland I wouldn't be too surprised to see a heavier Fantasia theme.

Fire Mountain is a roller coaster concept based on the volcano eruption at the end of Atlantis. However, the more recent rumors involving this attraction put it in Adventureland (Which is better... if they do that, every land will have a mountain).

I was talking with one of the Imagineer Show Designer yesterday about the demise of 20K in turn for a character meet and greet and he shared that he was sorry to see go as well. But now here's the really INTERESTING part. Most of the discussion I've seen has been about what "thing" will go there in the long term. "Thing" in the singular may not be the ultimate outcome. He said there is almost six and a half acres in that area. Enough perhaps for an entirely new LAND! :sohappy: For a new land I can wait.

it better be something good. its soo rediculous for a meet and greet! i mean come on, 6 and half acres...can we say...high speed roller coaster? or something besides a garden!.. ill calm down now...
