2024 Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting Of Shareholders

Nelson Peltz is a formidable challenger and this is his biggest loss ever, by a wide margin. 43% of shareholders voted against Eisner directly, not 28%. For context, 94% of shareholders voted for Iger.

This campaign was nowhere near as successful as Save Disney and the shareholders clearly vindicated Iger and the company’s strategy.
Wow. Wish I could get that drunk on the Kool-aid.

It's annoying it's alphabetical and not by votes....

Peltz and Perlmutter withholding votes for Iger had little effect. Iger being in the top 4 of 10 shows that investors don't share some people animosity toward Iger.

If those who voted for a Blackwell candidate voted for Peltz instead, it would have had little effect. Blackwell was not a spoiler for anyone.

Wonder how Wall Street feels about the shareholder advisors, like ISS, after this. Investors seemed to ignore their advice. Wonder if this lowers The Street's estimation of their role in recommending shareholder votes.

Honestly, ISS seems to have impacted about 20% of the votes and it also disagreed with Glass Lewis. Maybe a lot of voters would have independently picked Peltz and not Rasulo?

I’d say 20% is fairly significant in the end. But it basically means the majority of their support did come from that one recommendation. Which was strictly based on the possibility of Peltz’s succession value-add. So if that’s not present next time around there’s little reason to think ISS would ever land on the same conclusion, if they even would as of today to begin with…

I think once there became more clear evidence that the relationship was going to be toxic it’s unlikely ISS would have taken the same view.
