There was no sneaking. LOL It is open to the public.

they are getting pretty strict on holidays - this poster was turned away from the Fort and Polynesian - turned away from the property itself.
They will turn you away in your car but they will not turn you away..... The resort is in fact open to the public and you're welcome to enjoy the resort, except the pool, so long as you use existing resort transportation to get to it. The parking will be reserved for guests who have reservations to dine at a full service restaurant or who are actually staying at the resort. So if you don't fall into one of those two buckets then saying that you're just coming to enjoy the resort and the fast food location at the resort will not get you in. But again you are more than welcome to come in so long as you use existing resort transportation. Your car on the other hand is not welcome here:).

One interesting thought though, I'm not sure how it works if you try to Uber or taxi into the resort. I would like to believe that they would like the Uber or taxi in to drop you off but I don't know that to be the case.

The OP attempted to take an Uber to fort wilderness and was turned away, and they attempted to walk to Polynesian from the TTC and were turned away.

Like I said, they are getting more and more strict about this.

I don't think the walk to TTC and Polynesian is true. Polynesian is not closed to pedestrian traffic.

This rumor comes up every year.... Someone always says it happened to them or they know someone directly had happened to. Something to the effect of They're wristbanding guests at the Polynesian.... they are not.

If they couldn't walk to the Polynesian from the TTC they could most certainly get on the monorail and get off on the first stop, the Polynesian.

Oh I’ve definitely seen that happen - but when I saw it the beach closest to the TTC was still open.

You’re welcome to doubt what the poster said, maybe they just made the story up and went to the grand for fun!
I have checked with my peers who work at the Polynesian and they said this is not accurate. They confirmed the Polynesian is fully open to a pedestrian traffic and there was no attempt to wristband or lock off the beach. You can come in by boat you can come in by monorail and if you park at the Magic Kingdom and want to walk in from the TTC you are welcome to do so.

I can confirm the grand was opened yesterday. I can confirm firsthand because I was there. I went there first before going to Epcot.

Edit : both Tim tracker and mouse steps have videos of going to trails end buffet yesterday. Both videos make no mention of them staying at a resort during this particular stay so likely they got in just as day guests.

It could be security at TTC told them it “was closed to non-guests” -I don’t know. I don’t have any reason to doubt someones experience.

It also could be that Poly was checking Id’s at the pedestrian walkway and they didn’t run it by your friend for approval. Who knows.

Meanwhile Cedar Point did 33,500 in attendance yesterday for a holiday. I get Disney isn't the same but people are packing parks in the summer yet people are avoiding Orlando parks.

What give
Some WDW parks did less than that yesterday.

With seasonal park Cedar Point open from May-Sept it is limited time to enjoy so no surprise in a number of them enjoying their time there.
