That tweet above was so great that I had to share lol. For those who don't get it, Scream and No Way Home were neck and neck throughout the entire week while awards contenders, like House of Gucci, increased significantly due to adding hundreds of theaters as awards season goes full throttle. In the end, No Way Home won the battle by edging out Scream by a little under $2M. However, Scream held strong with a 59% decrease. That fall may seem steep, but it is normal for horror flicks to fall this high. 59% is actually on the better side. Plus, Scream's domestic total has already outsold the entire domestic run of Scream 4. As for No Way Home, it continues to dominate. It is currently the 6th highest-grossing film worldwide and the 4th highest-grossing film domestically. As for the new releases, they did almost nothing. The King's Daughter made $750K, and Redeeming Love made $3.7M in its OW. The rest of the top 10 held quite strongly, with dips no bigger than 30% (excluding Scream).
Notable Totals:
- Scream, Belle, and Venom: Let There be Carnage were the only films to fall more than 50%
- Flee and Drive My Carwere the only films to increase this week
- Flee added 35 theaters and increased 2,664%!
- Highest Theater Count Loss:
- The Matrix Resurrections (-716)
- Lowest Theater Count Loss:
- Licorice Pizza (none)

‘Spider-Man’ Leads Quiet Box Office Weekend As Domestic Cume Grows To $721M+; Can The Superhero Take Down ‘Avatar’? – Sunday Update
Sunday AM Writethru: Some studio distribution bosses used to say that moviegoing is a 52-week business. Well, that’s not the philosophy this weekend, and it’s even grimmer next weekend, as most majors figured in the wake of MLK weekend, and a traditional box office dead zone like January with...

Weekend Estimates: Spider-Man: No Way Home ($14.13M) Reclaims No. 1 Spot From Scream ($12.4M); Webslinger Sequel is Now 6th-Highest-Grossing Film Globally at $1.69B
It was a neck-and-neck race for the top spot at the box office this weekend, with two holdovers – last weekend’s No. 1 film Scream and the six-week-old Spider-Man: No Way Home – vying for bragging rights over a slow frame in which two wide openers failed to make much of an impression. Emerging...
