2014 Walt Disney World parks holiday season updates

I'm not surprised, considering it's New Year's and all...
That's normal with Phase A. They redirect to other parks. They distribute parking passes and the meal vouchers in that scenario.

Fun fact: Epcot has 12,155 parking spots.

Probably the only week where that isn't terribly excessive.
Wow, that's a lot. On an average non-crowded day, it could have room for every guest group with a car.

Hearing from some friends that Universal/IOA reached capacity, or are greatly slowing down entry to the parks. They also closed the gates for several hours on the 28th and 29th, but the rain kept them from doing so yesterday.

Going back to Disney, can anyone let us know the current wait times? And if anyone's there, can we see some pictures of how the queues look?

Animal Kingdom extended their hours to 10 PM today.

Phase A (or any other phase) and the closing of parking lots are two separate decisions that just happen to mostly coincide. With Phase A they don’t automatically close the lot, but they will often turn away guests that have 1D1P tickets or haven’t bought tickets yet.

According to my mouse on the inside the MK or Epcot lots are not at capacity but restricted access. (The MK lot will likely be closed soon – and probably remain so for the rest of the day.)

I took the Disney route to work this morning and at 11:30 there were still people being let in to park at MK but the road was backed up past Osceola Parkway and past Caribbean Beach on Buena Vista. All the MK busses were going Bonnet Creek into the park.

I'll see if I can get a lead!

I just would like to know where they put 90 minutes of people waiting for The Haunted Mansion and Pirates, and 45 minutes of people for Philharmagic!

220 Minutes for Test Track currently! Yikes. I wish I was there... not to ride anything... but just to take pics of all the extended queues and crowds. I'm obsessed with crowd control and queuing.
Ya, I would rather people watch for 220 minutes and have a few beers. Bound to be a few high grade melt downs by some kids, which makes for great entertainment.

Does Disney have some type of contingency plan in the event of an emergency and crowds rush for the gates? Heaven forbid something happen like that, but if it did and that many people were On MSUSA....

Inside mouse says bus transportation to/from Epcot is backed up, in some cases up to an hour. So if you can get to Epcot via monorail or boat you might want to opt for that.

Here are some wait times for there:
210 – Soarin
190 – Test Track
130 – Mission Space Orange
120 – Spaceship Earth
100 – Mission Space Green
70 – Living with the Land
60 – Journey into Imagination, Seas
45 – Captain EO, Gran Fiesta, Turtle Talk, Character Spot
Down – Ellen

HELL NO!!! They can't even clear it out after a parade or fireworks, there is no way if there was something major to get all those people out quickly.
