One Little Spark...
Well, Sam, I would prefer you not jump to conclusions here. Sure, his video was good, but you haven't even seen my concept yet. How would you know that he'll win if I haven't even posted mine yet? I mean, we all know I'll blow @englanddg out of the water when it comes to a video. ;):D:p:rolleyes::cool:
I think yours turned out pretty darned good! We took vastly different routes. I found your show quite complete!

This is gonna be a tough challenge!

I...I've...I've never really been a fan of the muppets.
I grew up with the Muppet Show.

There were only so many english TV shows in Germany...Muppet Show reruns and Star Trek were two of them.

They never really came back from that. The reboot in the late 80s/early 90s wasn't the same at all (though it did introduce Pepe the King Prawn...he's pretty much the only "new" character from it that survived the show to become a regular Muppet)...

I'd love to see them reboot the original show, in the original format (like they do in the movies). It was a lot of fun. But, Variety shows with celebrities have gone the way of the dodo.

This is more apt for my submission.

Though, Gonzo and Fozzie dressed up as Anna and Elsa and flying through the night sky on ziplines would have been a GREAT addition, come to think of it!

I would think Love is an open door sung by Wayne and Wanda might be good (considering the gag being whatever the title of the song is happens), but that would be better for a Muppet show.. Maybe a reboot of the original Muppet Show:inlove:. One can only hope.

Bobo the Bear is from Muppets Tonight and he had a more prominent role In The Muppets (2010) than Pepe. Can remember if he appeared in Muppets Most Wanted though.

True, he was the other one.

The host, though, I've never seen again (the guy with the star wars style dancing girl dreads...)

I haven't seen Muppets Tonight in literally 20+ years. Maybe I should do some googling...

I've only seen the pilot I hated it completely. I feel like the host's name was Samuel? Or something along those lines.

That rings a bell. I really can't remember.

I remember when it debuted. The whole family gathered around the TV with dinner on trays...me and my sister sitting on the floor eating on the coffee table...excited.

And...even though I was 10 - 11, I remember it being...awful. NOTHING like the original show.

It went on for a few seasons though, iirc (though I could be wrong, I think it went on for 2 - 3 years...)

Sortof sad, really, cause it came out around the same time that Sesame Street was pushing out some of it's best work.

CTW had all the best talent though...stole from Henson Productions (and shared) all the time.

Personally I have always found them a little creepy. Never been a fan either, then again I'm in the generation that had very little to no Muppet influence. They simply were not around when I was growing up.
Henson Productions and TJHC never truly recovered from the death of Jim Henson.

During the late 70s and 80s they turned out some amazing work.

Labrynth
Dark Crystal
Fraggles
Emmet Otters (one of the best Christmas specials ever, if you've never seen it, check it out...the music is good, the story entertaining and they were at the height of puppetry arts at the time)
The Muppet Movies (the originals...though, none of them were excellent, they all were pretty entertaining)
The Storyteller
Farscape
Dinosaurs
The Jim Henson Hour
The Witches

List goes on.

That being said, I just checked...Muppets Tonight debuted in 1996. I was a bit older than 10...

:p
