I am willing to pay a $400 ticket to watch that thing burn..
Oh, at DHS? The company has no idea how much of a money maker that would be considering thats all they're about.

But I like the hat aside from it obstructing the view and making no sense where it is. It would make a good WDW Icon itself. IMO of course. But the only IMO the counts is the judges...;):p

Unfortunately for @englanddg, I think I win. Your fatal mistake was using Microsoft.
;);)

Its actually quite amazing. I tried to match you in your notorious details, but I just couldn't. Makes it feel awesome! Great concept!

No videos, but it's actually a tested technology in banks and resorts. Quite a few resorts in Vegas, for example, use them.

It was what "Surface" was before they rebranded it for the current version.

What is revolutionary is the table display itself, hence why I used it.

<best LJ impersonation voice, though he does it way better, both these sorts of reviews, and the whole "Sports Center" thing, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm the missing Charles Barkley!>

@Voxel vs @MonorailRed

Well, this is quite a match up. One favorite of the threads, one a new, but voracious and creative competitor. Having worked with both, I can say they are both out of the box thinkers, and their posts tonight show it!

Lets start with Red.

- Removing the current functions and rather making it a destination area is a neat idea.

- I liked your picture, you certainly spent a lot of time on certain items such as the monorail and the amazing ferry boat. But, it was rather dark and monochromatic. I think a daytime shot, perhaps, would have highlighted your concept a bit more than the starry sky. Also, why is Darkhorse Knight in the upper left?

- While I like the idea of Fine Arts, I'm not sure what this has to do with the MK area or how it represents WDW as a whole. I always viewed TTC as sortof the "Welcome Center" for WDW, as it's the first place many experienced in the past (before pre-purchase tickets were a major thing).

- I do understand you were limited, but I'm having a hard time deciding exactly what you mean by 'Mediterranean Style Architecture".

- Interesting take on the EPCOT transition. Nice point. Not sure if it's necessary, as there's a 20 minute journey on the monorail to get to EPCOT, or back from it, by Monorail, but...interesting concept. I like the idea!

- I think instead of saying how it's NOT Disney Springs, it would have been stronger to spend those limited words expounding on what it IS, not what it is NOT. Just my opinion.

- The way you handled Ticketing is fantastic, though I do question it's placement in the pavilion (rather, shouldn't it be more front and center?). But, the overall concept and description sounds great!

- I think the Villas are a grand idea, and will sell out / book up quickly. I really LOVE this concept.

Summary - Overall, I thought there were lots of seeds of great ideas here...but it just didn't gel for me. The art, as expected, was top notch, and your map was well done. But, your concept and descriptions as a whole left me wanting more. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I still end up picturing a high end shopping mall with venues above it. The gist I get from this line:

"This new area differentiates itself from Disney Springs by becoming an area for Fine Arts, such as: painting, wood carving, glass blowing, culinary, metal sculpting, animation, printmaking, and many more; not an area for resort with a major factor of trinkets and curios from vacation."

I suspect you meant it to be far more intimate and unique, but in the end, it just didn't come off that way.

Still 4.5 out of 5 stars, I loved the idea as a whole!

- You need to proof your work. What is a "grass hill me tower in the distance"? I josh, slightly, but seriously...for a final post, these sorts of things shouldn't exist. (note, I will mention my own typos when I get there...grin!)

- THAT being said, I still got the concept, and I think it's really neat. It hides the ugly parking structures, and themes them, sortof making parking...well...an ADVENTURE! I also really enjoyed that it stuck with the "slow reveal" concept that only exists at WDW. In fact, it builds on it. You truly are, with your proposal, journeying into a magical place, and away from the normal world.

- Your map is fantastic, but it could use labels or a legend.

- After the Parking Garage and Tram experience, I feel it sortof falls apart. I think I see where you were trying to go here, but were limited by the constraints of this challenge to go into more detail. In the end, it felt a bit cluttered and confusing.

- There's a lot of germ in this seed (google the term if you are not familiar with it), but I'm not sure it takes root outside of the themed entrance. I wish you had been able to flesh out your concept a bit more as to what the actual TTC looks like, as opposed to how amazing the new parking deck is.

I would love to comment more, but there isn't much more to comment on. The concept, while amazing (really loved the map, just to mention that again), just doesn't feel cohesive.

Overall though, 3.5 stars out of 5. This isn't the detailed you I know, and I can tell you were trying to shoehorn a great concept into a limited format with a limited timeframe.

I would agree with this... Red deserves to go on, her time management put me to shame..

Well, lets let her work on her ultra advanced degree finals at the same time and see how she fares.

She obviously spent WAY too much time making the Monorail and Ferry (god, that Ferry is amazing!) look fantastic...but not enough on fleshing out her ideas.

I really enjoyed both of them, but was blown away by where I'm pretty sure you were going with yours.

Final presentation just killed ya, my Air Brother.

It always does, it always does. I love brainstorming but when it comes down to everything I bust. lol

Something to work on. We all get better each of these challenges.

While we carry a similar mindset, I have a decade more experience of learning how to cull the herd of ideas to get to the point.

However, that shoots me in the foot many times as I have limited concepts as a result, and will immediately dismiss (even when just working with myself) grossly out of the box thinking (unlike what you and many of the others did).

Of all the posts, I'd rate mine the "safest"...but, I'll get to that. I can tear mine to shreds just as well as commenting on others. <grin>
