Okay - sorry to kind of hijack (thread derailment ahead! :D) but y'all are all over here and I hate to start a whole new planning thread just for this:

Could y'all suggest the best things at SWW for a 9 year old Star Wars fan? My son has seen at least two of the classic (original?) Star Wars movies. I know there is a parade - I think he would like the parade. I don't think he would want to wait in line for any of the celebrities. (Plus we aren't really early morning people, so we probably won't get tickets. :D)

I think he will really enjoy the character meet and greets - where are they located? Near Star Tours? Do they have 2 character m&G locations and switch the characters out? Or do they have one location for each character? (so that you really can meet Jedi Mickey or Darth Vader continuously from 10 to 7?)

I watched a little of Hyperspace Hoopla on youtube - I'm wondering if it might go right over his head?

We were at a SWW in June 2009. We weren't there for SWW at all, but I did see everyone dressed up, in line for celebrity m&g tickets, etc. I also vaguely remember that while we were running for TSMM all the people dressed up and wearing Star Wars shirts, were running straight for Star Tours. Was there a reason for this? Or did everyone just want to be first in line to get a photo with Jedi Mickey? :D

I wonder if you can pose in his mouth like he's chomping on you...
Mouth no, hand, sort of.

Hello all,

Long time lurker, former cast member (entertainment), first time poster.
My wife and I were married at Disney World recently, and have been going back at least every other month since. Having never done Star Wars Weekends (yes, even when I was a CM), I am excited to partake in it with her!

A big question I have is pertaining to the Star Wars celebrities that will be present. Will it be possible to get a ticket to meet all (or most) of the people on hand in one day? We will be present during the second week, and are debating if it will be doable since it seems like lines are long and form early.

Looking forward to posting more with fellow Disney World fans!

If you are by yourself it is not likely. With 2 or more people you should be able to do it, but you will need to get there very, very early. Ray park has been consistently popular as has Warwick Davis and people will start lining up for them in the early AM hours or even the night before.

Thanks for the insight! Most likely we will split up for different lines and try to tackle it that way. But oh to chose which two first!?

That's Roxy the Rancor! This is actually a Fan Made prop not owned by Disney at all! It was created by members of the 501st Legions Florida Garrison (most of those guys you see march in the SWW Parade). If you've never seen it in person, it is a sight! It marks a MAJOR milestone as it is the first time an outside owned, fan made prop has ever been displayed in a Disney park!

What I was told by the owner of Roxy is that it will be INSIDE the SWW Store. As a member of the 501st and Rebel Legions (and parade marcher), I would HIGHLY recommend seeking her out! She looks amazing in person!

Ray Park and Warwick Davis would be the lines I get into first. After getting fastpasses for them you should be able to get Jim Cummings.

Good the hear that it is in fact Roxy.

They did use a full size X-wing prop about 6-7 years ago that supposedly was owned by GL. I do not know if it was fan made (I am assuming it was done by the studio), but I do know it was outside owned.

Hmm I wonder how close they will let guests get to it seeing as how it's sectioned off in the photo
In the past when Roxy has been at conventions you could wait in a line and take your picture with her much like your typical character meet and greet. I am assuming that they might do something similar at DHS.

My wife and I will be getting into town about 8:00 on Sunday morning 05/19, to the hotel by 9:00 and hopefully to the park by 10:00 (transportation and checkin permitting).

I am a bigger Star Wars fan than she is, and I am wondering if we will still be able to enjoy other attractions or will Hollywood Studios be filled to capacity?

She will. While the Star Wars related events tend to be crowded the other attractions are usually normal to light.
