2012 Golden Tickets: SEA and Dolly Beat Out Disney In Most.

WDW's attendance is not declining. Not increasing by much, but not declining.

I'd very much disagree with this. I'm sure the TEA numbers this year will come out with the 1% growth they've had marked down for WDW basically every year. But everything I've heard tells that WDW's attendance is down this year.

But really, attendance is a moot point. Much more goes into the garnering of attendance than having "the best" stuff.

These awards are pretty meaningless. KI wins best kids' are every year. I hear it has a lot to do with how much advertising you buy.

LOL! Knowing how SEA works very well, they spent nothing to get their name in so many categories.

Sorry, I'm as harsh a critic of WDW as anyone, but one thing they don't have to worry about is attendance.

Let me clean my screen of the water dispersed from lol'ing before I reply.

Yes, attendance is hurting. Take off the blinders. People want the best bank for the buck and it is not Disney's Backseat World. @GLaDOS said it well.

Cedar Point getting 'Best Park' - the Matt Ouimet effect. Honestly Jay Rasulo should of promoted him to be the President @ WDW, maybe our parks wouldn't be quite as stale as they currently are.

Well, CP has won for 15 consecutive years, so I'm not sure you can credit Ouimet this year. ;)

The last thing I have on when it comes to WDW, is blinders. Every year when I see the annual attendance reports come out, it's always the same 5 parks in the top 5 in the country, and they're all Disney. If they're hurting, then the rest of those parks must be close to dead.

And the capacity is how much higher than the other parks? Exactly. If numbers were fixed to attendance percetange by capacity then WDW would be well below where it is now. Take the blinders off.

SEA doesn't advertise in Amusement Today?

I have seen a couple adverts for them here and there over the past couple years. Nothing on the level of KF and SF parks. I feel I have seen more DIS adverts than SEA.

Now you're just starting to sound clueless. Cedar Point is 3X the size of the Magic Kingdom, and they draw about 1/6 the amount of people. They're only open half the year, but by your calculations then, they should still be drawing in 27 million people.

You start a topic and then attack people that are trying to have an honest debate about it?

And for what it's worth, I was at WDW last year and the place was spotless so I'm not buying these "awards".

Look at the park's safety capacity numbers. Vastly different. CP is lower. Look up the hard numbers. Don't fabricate to jusity.

I'm debating like I always do. Blinders are on several and seeing hard surveys vote WDW down has apparently struck a nerve. Some family magazines use these in their travel advice and places to go portion. I've been to WDW twice this year and will ssay their cleanliness and maitenance level on visuals is far down compared to where it should be and used to be.

I have never looked at the mag myself. But I have heard comments from CF insiders that ads in AT will get you certain considerations come awards time.
