2012 dining plan question

i see that for the QS dining plan,,,you get for lunch or dinner
entree
dessert
drink


do you have to order the desert at the time of the meal...or can be saved for later?
i wasnt sure if it was taken off the card a la carte or in a BLOCK so to speak
and also,,,it it the same for regular dining and deluxe?(the dessert question)

No, you have to take the desert at the time you order your meal. It does not work like a snack.

Don't most of the desserts on the QS plan come more or less packaged? I know we've ordered cookies as our dessert and they always came packaged. That way, you could in fact take the dessert with you for later which we have done with the cookies.

I think this is the case...can pretty much take them all with except for ice cream.

However, they will package it "to go" if you'd like.

Some of the deserts are pretty yuk, I tend to have an extra drink instead.

As this thread was bumped already, I thought I'd add that at places where the Counter Service dessert is ice cream (or some other frozen item), you can often opt to pick up the dessert after you've eaten your meal. That way it isn't sitting there melting while you're eating your meal.

Ask the CM at the register for specifics, but I think they stamp your receipt with a special stamp, and then you go back to the counter, show the receipt and pick it up. I'm sure there's also some sort of "within a reasonable amount of time" clause, too. It's not intended to stop by hours later to pick it up.

Yep. They'll mark your receipt and you can take it to the ice cream counter later. I think the time limit we were give last week was 30 minutes.

We usually got the packaged cookies as desert and just threw them in our bag for later.
