2012 dining plan finally revealed

Noticed this week they finalized the dining plan this week for 2012. They even added places that weren't on the list before. now theres even more choices on where to use it. Very happy to see more places in downtown disney a few in epcot and and the other parks. now gotta decide where to go to eat for the September Vacation.

Seems to happen every year, preliminary list comes out with tons missing then just befor the new year most to all are added back. Not sure why, contract negotiations with third parties? maybe Master Yoda or one of the other travel agent types knows why.

Ya, that seems to be the answer always given. The Disney owned and operated restaraunts are put on the early list and released to the public so the public will have something to go by until the final list is compiled. Most of the 3rd party run restaraunts (those in the World Showcase, etc) normally participate, but Disney has to wait until the contract negotiations are done and the final deal is made before they can officially put them on the list. For the most part, there is little doubt that those restaraunts will end up being back on the dining plan, but since they are owned and operated independently, you just never know, and there could be some that decide to bow out, even though they have always done the DDP before. But rather than make the general public wait until December for a dining plan pamphlet once the final list is completed, Disney likes to make a preliminary list so they can get a pamphlet out in August.

Yup- contract negotiations. The list gets longer and longer the closer to the new year you get, as restaurants complete their annual negotiations.
