I don't mean to be rude, but :hurl:. If the mouse shoves those words (or wishes, magic, or wonder) down my throat anymore, I'm liable to start wearing all black and listening to Fallout Boy just to balance it all out. I know those are the reasons we came to WDW, but do we need to be reminded so freaking often?!?

...or you could ride the new "Simpsons" ride at Universal over and over and over again. (sorry I couldn't resist).

I've heard that the new ship names will be the Disney Dream and the Disney Celebration. Those names aren't too too bad, and they get the whole Disney magic theme across.

Personally, I think the majority of people that are going to go to Florida for the express purpose of seeing Harry Potter are going to simply bring more tourists to the area. I would not be shocked to see Universal have a higher rate of growth than the Disney parks, but I expect Disney to pick up on some of Universal's residuals for once.

Disney is definitely playing a wait and see approach as they decide how best to respond to Universal and Sea World additions.

Not really...decisions have been made and things are moving forward. Waiting until those additions are open would be too late.
The answer to Manta and Hollywood Rip, Rock...whatever, will be the new Space Mountain. Yes, they are looking to make it good enough to hold it's own against those two.:D
The answer to Potter....more complex, and will span multiple parks.

Seems like they are waiting a long time to get started on anything that would be open by the time HP and the roller coasters open. Those projects are well underway. Unless Disney is just planning a new parade or fireworks show. I really can't see them finishing any e tickets in time.:shrug::shrug::shrug:

Read carefully. He didn't say that they'd be open by then, just started. Lee and marni1971 ... care to share any slight details????

New Space Mtn. will be up and running at some point in 2010.
The other stuff, 2011-2012. A little behind the others, but not as much as if they were just waiting to see what happens with the competition. Trust me...stuff is moving forward. Good stuff.

I didn't mean they were waiting until everything was open at the other parks but more that they were waiting until they know better what is happening. Glad to hear they are responding though. That is great news!

Just my opinion, but I've always gotten the sense that WDW holds itself sort of aloof to the other parks in the area, almost as if they were beneath WDW's concern.

If this perception is intentional, it makes perfect sense for WDW to quietly make improvments and greenlight big plans while Universal and Sea World have their brief time in the sun.

I wouldn't be surprised if a big anouncement didn't come until after a significant amount pass after HP opened.

Man, I wish Disney would spill the beans on what they are planning...

Anyways, the whole Mayan calender ending in 2012, is a myth. Another Mayan calender cycle ends in 2012, not the actual calender, thats the true significance. Our society is just fascinated with doomsday theories, so this is just another one to throw into the pot.

Well, we know that 2011-2012 will also bring 2 new pyro shows.
