2011 Package prices...When will they come out??

I can't wait to book for May 2011. So excited already that I fall asleep thinking Disney. When will the 2011 package prices come out. At least if I can book my trip I feel like I am half way there. :sohappy:

Package prices come out next month. Some people think they will be out the first week, others say mid-month, and few others say the end of the month.

You don't have to wait for the full package prices to come out to book your room.

The room rates have been released for 2011. If you call, you can book a "basic" package now! This will reserve your dates and designate your reservation as a package (you will have to pay the $200.00 deposit).

Once all of the package prices for 2011 are released next month, you can call back and add in your park tickets and dining plan.

They're doing it a little differently this year than in previous years. In previous years, everything is released at once: room, ticket and DDP info. This year, they seem to have finalized and released 2011 room rates and are allowing us to book what they call a "basic package" based on 2011 room rates. The rates are finalized and locked in, so the price you're given is the price you'll pay in the end. And then, when DDP and ticket info is finalized and released for 2011, you can call and add those to the package without having to cancel and rebook like you used to have to do when booking a room only and then converting to a package.

Since package info is normally released around the first of August and since the room prices are finalized already, my guess would be that the rest of the info should be released in the next week or two. In the past few years, it seems like package info has been released in the first few days of August and usually on a Sunday, so perhaps the pattern is the first Sunday in August, which would be a week from today if that's the case. I know last year, packages were made available Sunday August 2.

I had an email from another non-official Disney site in my inbox this morning that said ticket prices were set to go up this Sunday. I don't know how reliable or even who their sources are. I don't know if the dining package pricing will be set but that would be 2 pieces of the vacation puzzle for ya.

Has anyone heard when peak season is? We want to return late March early April. We will be there in December and hoping for BB offer. TIA.

Peak season normally seems to start in February with Presidents' day, and run through a week or two after Easter. Easter next year is April 24, I believe, so all of March and April should be peak season (or holiday season for the time immediately surrounding Easter).

When I booked my 10 night stay at Carribbean Beach, the total came to around $2,254 or something like that. So that means that it is an average of $225 a day, which sounds to me like peak season prices to me.

I don't know the source either, but judging by past precedent, that seems to be accurate information. Our first on property stay was April 2007, so in the few years that I have been keeping up with that sort of thing, it seems that that info has been coming out the first Sunday in August each year.
