That sucks. Hopefully it won't go up too much.

What does pre-holiday season mean? Is it more expensive than peak? Why is it only at the campgrounds? (Just curious because it seems weird that they would have it when the rest of the hotels are in value season for most of that time).

The seasons from the lowest rates to the highest rates are:

Value, Pre-Holiday, Regular, Summer, Peak, Holiday

Season dates and rates are simply based on supply and demand. All the resorts are the most popular during the winter holiday period, with spring break being the second most popular time. Early summer attracts more young families, so value and moderate Resorts are in a higher season then the Deluxe and DVC properties. Late fall is more popular with campers then late summer due to the cooler weather and less rain, hence the pre-holiday season costs a little more then value season.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Hi...

Hi, you said that the room only reservations for 2007 would be available the next few days, do you mean on-line, or when you call? I'm planning an April 2007 vacation, and I like to make reservations as soon as I can. Thanks:wave:

By phone, you can currently book room-only reservations for any travel dates up to 499 days in advance* but your nightly rate may not be guaranteed. If you do book before the new 2007 rates are guaranteed, you simply will receive a 2nd confirmation with the new rate once it has been finalized, and be given the option to modify or cancel the reservation if you so choose.

The 2007 room rates are now being finalized and the process of entering them into our systems has already begun. At the Disney Reservation Center, the new year's rates are loaded into our systems individually, Resort by Resort, instead of all at once. As a result, your 2007 rate may infact be finalized before the rates are officially anounced to the public.

Our internet system is very different. Internet room-only reservations can only be booked for travel dates starting up to 12/31/06. With the internet, the system requires that all of new year's rates go live all at once. Due to this fact, it normally takes a few weeks after the new rates are released for you to be able to book room-only reservations online.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

*Note our systems will allow you to book up to 499 days prior to your scheduled WDW departure date, not your arrival date.

Ok just a question that someone here might know but My girlfriend and I are getting married Dec 1st, 2007 if all goes as planned and we are spending a week in Gatlinburg,TN and then want to spend another week at Disney for our honeymoon and I wanted to stay at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian cus she fell in love with the Grand at Christmas last year with the tree and all that inside and its a dream she has to stay there now. What I was wondering is if I was to stay the 10-14/15 Dec. what do you think it would cost me per night or for all them combined. I see its value season and I wanted a room that overlooked Magic Kingdom so what can i expect for price?

Isn't pre-holiday new too? I don't recall seeing pre-holiday rates on Disney's website for this year.

Pre-Holiday is only used for campsites at Fort Wilderness, so it is not well published. This season has been used for several years.

What I usually do is go to the website and get a quote for this years rates then just know the price will increase somewhat for next year. Don't use your exact dates though. To get an approximate price for 12/10 for 5 nights (checking out 15th) check these dates for this year: 12/11 for 5 nights checking out the 16th. Your dates are check in Monday and check out Saturday.

edited to clarify : The exact dates don't matter as much as the days of the week

Any news on the 2007 rates? When I called for April 14th -24th 2007, they seem to be still charging me peak rates, when by your list it should be the regular season???? thanks:)

Since you stated your arrival date is April 14, 2007, you are arriving in Peak Season. You are being quoted correctly. Remember, your rate is always based on your arrival date, and remains the same throughout your stay. The only way to avoid this is to either arrive the following day, or book 2 continuous reservations, and check out and back in on April 15th. Note, there will be a possibility that you will need to move rooms, however the resort will try to avoid it if possible.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Currently: Value, Moderate, Vacation Club, Fort Wilderness, and select Deluxe Resorts are now officially confirmed for 2007 rates. The remaining Deluxe Resorts should be confirmed by the end of this week. Once all 22 Resorts are confirmed, the website should be able to book 2007 rates about 1 to 2 weeks later.

Thanks...

Thanks that does help. I was unaware that they charge you based on your arrival date. I don't know if it would be worth the trouble to go one day later, or book and rebook. Will I really be saving alot by booking and rebooking? Thanks again Tina:wave:

JP,

Sorry if I seem slow, but I want to be sure b4 we book anything; If we're going from May 19th to the 28th, does that mean we get the regular season booking the whole time, even though it switches to summer?? Thanks so much for your help - appreciate it:)

Let me try to explain...

When you book a Disney Resort stay, your nightly rate is always based on which season your arrival date falls on, and will remain the same for the entire length of your reservation stay. This is true for both Room-Only Reservations and for WDW Vacation Packages.

If you are staying at a Value Resort from May 19th, 2007 to May 28th, 2007, your nightly rate will be based on regular season. You will pay regular season rates for ALL nights of your stay, even though part of your stay falls during the more expensive summer season.

If you are staying at a Value Resort from April 14th, 2007 to April 24th, 2007, your nightly rate will be based on peak season. You will pay peak season rates for ALL nights of your stay, even though part of your stay falls during the less expensive regular season.

The only way to avoid this is to book 2 separate reservations. The first, a one night stay from April 14th 2007 to April 15th 2007. The second, a nine night stay from April 15th 2007 to April 24th, 2007. This will require you to pay two separate deposits, have two separate reservation numbers, and two separate cancellation policies. During your stay, on April 15th you will need to check-out then back in, and get new room key cards. You may be required to move rooms, however, the Resort will always do their best to avoid this and keep you in the same room if at all possible.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:
