Don't worry, this is a very common question and concern of Guests calling the Reservation Center. I am always glad to help ensure you have the most magical vacation possible. If you have any further questions, feel free to post, or PM me anytime!

I called yesterday and booked 2 rooms at the Pop Century for the end of January 2007. When I asked the gentleman (who was very nice, professional and helpful) about AAA room discounts, he checked on them and stated they weren't out yet and told me to call back around October to change the rooms to the AAA rate. Just curious if this is correct (that the AAA room discounts are not yet set for 2007) and if I call back in October will I be able to get the 2 rooms that I currently have booked (at the 2007 Standard rack rate of $82.00 a night) at a AAA room discounted price

For JP

**Sorry for the thread drift. I have a room only reservation at the WL for Thanksgiving week in a std view room. I want to add on a magic your way plus dining package. Can this be done or do I have to make a whole new reservation? I am concerned b/c I have been told that the std view rooms are booked up for that week.

Thanx

Glad to help. Currently there are no Discount Marketing Offers for any dates in 2007. It is unknown when and if the next AAA Marketing offer will be released, or what dates / Resorts it will include.

Please note, we at the Disney Reservation Center are NEVER officially made aware of when ANY discount offer will be released. There are many rumors, speculations, and outright wild guesses that float around the call center, but NEVER official word until the date the offer is released to the public.

Please take any quote of a discount offer release date you hear from a Disney Reservation Agent as merely an educated guess at best, never fact. Disclosure of propriety information such as future discount offers this could be grounds for termination of the cast member.

As with all discount marketing offers, there is a limited number of rooms available at each Resort, for each date during the offer period. The number of rooms available for a Discount Marketing Offer is based on a percentage of the unbooked rooms on each date during the offer period. Holding a room at full price does not guarantee you a discounted room should a offer be released, infact it technically reduces the number of discounted rooms available for any future discount offers.

If you plan on staying at your chosen Resort regardless of a discount please book now to ensure availablity. If you do not intend to stay in the Resort you have booked unless a discount is offered, there is no benefit of holding the room.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Well technically yes, we can modify your reservation from a room only to a vacation package, but it will required a new deposit. Let me explain...

If you decide to change from a room only reservation to a Vacation Package, yes we will need to book you a new package reservation and cancel your room only reservation. Note I stated we are booking new THEN cancelling old. This is for in the event that there are no standard rooms left, we can simply overbook a room for your package first, then cancel your room only room to make up for the overbooking. You may be asked to be placed on hold while this is performed, and it may take a few moments.

Also note, since room only reservations are booked within Central Reservations Office (CRO), and packages are booked within the Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), you will need to pay a new deposit (or the full balance if you are within 45 days of arrival.) Due to legal reasons, a credit card deposit on your room-only reservation cannot be transferred to your new package.

Keep in mind, due to system requirements, this change must be done at least 3 days or more prior to arrival. Also remember a MYW ticket must be included in your new package. If you have already purchased tickets, they cannot be refunded, nor can the package be booked without adding new tickets for everyone in your party.

Hope this helps!:sohappy:

Since we're talking bout 2007 rates in here, I want to post my question here:

To JPVonDrake and any other person who know:

The word on the street in my neck of the woods is that a major convention that my boyfriend has attended for the last 20 years, and that I want to attend with him in August of 2007, will be coming to Disney World next year.

For clarity: WDW do do conventions, right? I'm assuming yes, so I'll continue with my next questions...

Is it possible that I can secretly find out which hotel will be the 'headquaters' for this convention?

Can I secretly find out their set ups for their meeting rooms? (They will have TONS of them)

Do WDW give convention rates? If so, can I book now? Or do I wait for a certain period of time to book? Can I book a room now and then have the rate switched to convetion rates later?

In most cities this convention travels to, their 'headquater' hotel sells out because that is where everyone wants to be. So I'm trying to make sure my boyfriend and I get the room *I* wants!!!!! lol (He has never been to WDW)

Yes. At any given time, there are dozens of conventions going on here at Walt Disney World.

Is it possible that I can secretly find out which hotel will be the 'headquarters' for this convention?
Can I secretly find out their set ups for their meeting rooms? (They will have TONS of them)

For the security and privacy of our Guests, we cannot disclose who is staying on our property at any given time. This policy also applies to groups, weddings and conventions.

Do WDW give convention rates? If so, can I book now? Or do I wait for a certain period of time to book? Can I book a room now and then have the rate switched to convention rates later?
If a group need 10 or more sleeping rooms, plus convention or meeting space, then yes we do offer group rates. The convention organizers will have signed a contract to book a block of rooms that they will resell to their conventioners.

If you are attending a convention, you will need to contact the convention organizers for any information, including where and when it will be held, and if you can qualify for a group rate by attending. Please do not contact 1-407-W-DISNEY as we cannot honor or disclose any contracted group rate. Also if you book with Disney directly on your own, you will NOT be able to attending any meetings or offerings the convention has, IE you will not be able to crash a convention at Disney.

In most cities this convention travels to, their 'headquarter' hotel sells out because that is where everyone wants to be. So I'm trying to make sure my boyfriend and I get the room *I* wants!!!!! lol (He has never been to WDW)
When Disney contracts a convention, the contract often includes one or more overflow resorts in addition to the main resort where the convention is held. Again contact the convention organizers to obtain information on how and when you can book.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the Convention!:sohappy:

Thanks! I have a clear picture of how disney handles conventions! I'll tell my boyfriend then to make sure he is ready on the gun to pay for his room when the convention announces room availability through them as a group!

Thanks!
