laura's right. just look how many photos get a lot of votes just because they're "cute" or "funny", but out-of-focus, or taken with a disposable camera. that irritates me sometimes, but, it's all just for fun, right?

While some voters may vote for cute or funny...I don't think it matters what it was taken with and the quality of it unless this contest really were about skill. I think if it incorporates the theme nicely or really captures the spirit of said theme, then it should do well, whether it was done with a disposable camera or not.duchess1576 said:

I noticed some blanks in the upcoming schedule. Are you taking any suggestions for future contests? If so, I have a few:
-Disney transportation(minus the monorail because we just did that contest): Pictures of busses (Disney transport, Disney Cruise or Magical Express or boats (resort launches or ferrys)
-China (or any specific World Showcase country): must be something taken in that specific country
-Humor: a picture (candid or whatnot) that shows something funny...a story might have to accompany this
-Disney outside of the parks: pictures cannot be taken within the 47 square miles of WDW (or any other theme park)....but they still must relate to Disney. It can be something at home, at a Disney store (World of Disney in NYC, or your local mall), etc.
-Kilimanjaro Safari: must be taken on the ride or in the queue of the ride.
-Photo Story: I don't know how this would work, but I'm thinking something along the lines of this: Everyone enters a few (2 3 4 or more) pictures that in some way tell a story (without words) to the viewer. I don't know if that would get too complicated in terms of posting though.
-Where is it? Contest: Everyone submits a picture of something we think no one will know its location. This can be limited to all of WDW, just the parks, or maybe just one park, its up to you.
-Nighttime Photograpy: The parks are so beautiful at night....all of these pictures must be at night.
-Little known things: Picture must be of some little known secret in WDW (for example the Net full of Jello in Muppets, Evil Tower U R Doom in Tot, the stone from Monticello in Liberty Square) Each picture must be followed with an explination....maybe we can all learn something here!

To add to the previous poster's ideas, I had been thinking about this too. Mine are not as original, but I was thinking of:
Picture of an elephant (or other type of animal on Kili Saf)
Picture of a certain resort
Picture of one of the lands in the parks or different countries at Epcot.
Pictures of some of the lesser known characters (well not lesser known, but not fab 5) or maybe from a group of movies that have a theme: ie princess, or animal theme, etc.
Picture of anything in MK/Epcot/AK/MGM/DTD area including resorts or parks or outside (just pick one area)
Picture of something "behind the scenes"
Hope you can use some of these ideas.

I love these contests.....thanks Speck for putting so much time and effort into them!
Maybe you can take out some repeat themes from last year and incorporate some new themes. (But I don't want to seem ungrateful for what we have....don't get me wrong, I love what you've done so far!)
