it's kinda sad to see how the squid looks and makes me feel that this ride should be revamped

Why revamp a ride that has been closed over a decade? Why not just build a new version? Or preferibly the Tokyo version?

there is nothing left to see it has been bull dozed. the items have been removed. if you would like any of these items you can email us at mww@joimail.com or go to ebay and under seller joesauctionsales you will see our items listed. we are wdw largest surplus vendor. we have more photos of this ride being dismanteled, and also some of the actual popcorn wagons.
are you sure you're doing something legal?

Yes. By far. Infact, the ride system is completly different but allows much more realism and a much more to be seen. But this is what I know:

1. You ride in a smaller sub that is not the nautelus or whatever you spell it.
2. The ride system is a suspended one like Peterpan but of course the ride pod is underwater.

But from what it seems, the tokyo version probably takes up 1/3 of the WDW version did. That is because of the large Subs, the outdoor part, and of course the WDW had 2 of everything. The Tokyo version does not.

The small subs are completely enclosed other than viewing porthole-style windows. Also, the theming is much more "cartoony" than it is realistic.

I was under the impression that the DisneySea attraction did not use any water, and only created the illusion of being under water via special effects in the double-layer porthole windows. So I don't know about this "ride pod is underwater" business. Of course, no water means the longevity and ease of maintenence as Peter Pan.

Well I have never been to Tokyo so I wouldn't know. But water effect through portholes would do good. I thought it was a glass bubble though because that is what the concept art had.

I don't understand. If there's still a few feet of water in the lagoon (as I last checked), and the lagoon/show building are connected, there would still be some water in the show building. How can something be bull dozed when there's water present? Wouldn't they want to completely dry it out first?

Also, how exactly does one person go about obtaining property from Disney and then have permission to turn around and sell that property for profit? Disney usually handles their own auctions, as they would stand to gain money from it. How does one person have "dibs" on the stuff over official Disney auctioning?

Correct, TDS 20k does not go underwater. It uses the wet for dry technology developed for The Little Mermaid Ride but never built at Disneyland Paris.

Don't you mean the "dry for wet" technology? Hmmmm... I often confuse the two.

They do sealed bidding on pallets of stuff at Property Control. For instance, i'd seen all that video equipment on a pallet (and drooled over it) and there was a sign on it that said "Bids Accepted Until...." ..... I find the Casey's Costume very interesting, considering those arent for sale. Same with parade floats and heads. An entertainment CM friend of mine tells me that those items are supposed to be destroyed if they arent in use or every to be used again.

Is it legal for them to resell it? I have no idea, but i would assume that Disney knows about it, since they do monitor things on the internet. I *DID* see this sign at the cash register that basically said that if people were caught reselling the items, it would be considered a terminable offence. I would also assume that apply if someone's family member did.

I would assume that someone has "dibs" on it by just insuring that they were the highest bidder by bidding a lot - and then reselling it for more.

I was thinking the same thing. Last year when Tomorrowland Attractions CM's consolidated into one group, they destroyed a ton of costumes. Same thing with the old subs. Remember the picture of those in the junkyard behind the Pluto Lot? It seems that some items are deemed resellable. In my opinion those subs look a lot cooler than the junk coming from the 20K Lagoon these days. :)

Checked the lagoon today and it is practically empty. There is a minute level of water at the bottom which has unfortunately left a lot of algae drying up. This leaves Fantasyland smelling like a beach. The actual ride subs were housed in the "boneyard" behind pluto and have been recently relocated to the landfill which is on the other side of magic kingdom after you pass the GF and the Frontierland entrance to the park with the other 2 making their way down to Castaway Cay. Someone said they had recent pictures of those which I have yet to see. Also of interest, I found this link on ebay for an actually decent 20K prop: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=138&item=2253572025&rd=1
