because as I go back to the original post that started this I realize that... there was ONE COP who was rude... and therefore, that ONE RUDE COP immediately means the person is calling into question every law enforcement personell this side of the mississippi (don't worry about the other side... they're all corrupted...)

ok so i went a little over the top... but... they were talking about ONE PERSON... so... i covered that

Does a teacher that molests a child give all teachers a bad name?

So... when a child gets molested by his teacher... I don't think the molested student should speakup... because clearly... by speaking up that this one teacher molested them would be speaking bad about all teachers...


I'M SURE THE MOLESTED KID WOULD FEEL 100% OKAY WITH JUMPING BACK INTO THAT SITUATION... because as you so OBVIOUSLY pointed out... holy cow it's a different person... why should this one have a "bad name"

im actually get surgery in 3 weeks... when a drunk surgeon does it and messes up... i'll make sure not to mention it... i wouldn't want to come off as bad mouthing ALL SURGEONS... as our original commentor on the cop clearly did when they talked about ONE INSTANCE with ONE COP...

You keep harping on the silly speculation that I said, or implied, that reporting of serious incidents by police, teachers, etc. should not take place. You grabbed this out of thin air. You are trying to argue a point that was never brought up or never in contention.

You took something and just ran with it and made up your own reponse to something that wasn't even asserted , for what reason I can't figure out.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Yep. I would agree.

Either way...
I don't think anyone means to say that "all" cops are bad, but one would have to admit that they're not ALL great and respectable as well. But that goes for any profession. I think we're all pretty much in agreement. While it's definitely not wise to stereotype all members of one profession by basing your opinion of them on a few that have passed your way recently, it's perfectly fair to be a little leery of them in the future and even to vent a little on a negative situation you've just had.
