2 Hours Wasted or Not?

The longest we have ever waited for a ride was 40 min for Dumbo on the last day in its old location. We wanted to ride it once last time before it moved.

Waited 70 mins for Space Mountain

Waited 55 for Midway Mania

Waited 50 for Soarin

I did 70 minutes at Soarin once, I didn't intend to because the standby wait sign when I entered it was 20 minutes. When I got to the line my thought was that it seemed pretty long and within a few minutes the line behind me was longer then the one ahead. I wasn't sure how long it took for the line to move so I waited until I had already wasted 40 minutes so I decided to wait it out. Never again...in the future if I see a line that looks to long to be only 20 minutes, I will turn around and fight the crowd backward.

First trip to WDW back in the 80's I remember waiting with the family @ 20K for what seemed like forever. Then again, as a kid your sense of time is always skewed. These days the wife and I pass up any ride/attraction which has a wait of more than 30 mins. Hence why we always try to go during the off-peak times of year.

All of those times I posted felt worth it in the end...
I'd say that my limit on most major attractions would be about an hour though. That said, we always go over Christmas/New Years so maybe my standards are different.

Speaking of which, I'm at Epcot today (on very patchy park wifi no less) and the wait times here are through the roof. Highest I've seen today have been 270 for Soarin, 250 for Test Track, 70 for the Land, 40 for Nemo, 90 for Spaceship Earth, and a whopping 90 minutes for Maelstrom. It's getting quite a bit slower now in Future World with crowds getting spots for the fireworks.

Happy new year everybody :)

And in case anyone asks...that would be the reason why you will never find my chubby butt at WDW during a holiday or even high season. January thru February, maybe March on the outside, but no other time.

Holy moly, 270 minutes for Soarin'. You've gotta be kidding

The only ride, and I mean ONLY RIDE, I would wait for more than 40 minutes is the Harry Potter ride at IOA. As much as I love Disney, I don't think any ride at Disney tops that one.

While I've never waited that long (planning fast passes and extra hours is what I'd rather do) I have seen people wait 2 hours for the new Little Mermaid ride and I feel sorry for them (at least when you wait for the Belle story time thing you get the chance of being part of the show and getting a picture with her).

I'd never wait two hours for any attraction. The longest I've wait has probably been about an hour, but that was many years ago. Now I know when to get to the attractions and how to manage my day so that I don't have to wait in those ridiculous lines.

Having the "Disney experience" really pays off. ;)

Longest wait for me was 90 minutes for TSMM. That was too long so I don't think I would ever do 2 hours.

I think waiting that long sort of soured my view of TSMM. I don't want that to happen to any other rides.

Waited 90 minutes or so for Soarin. But, that wait was unintentional. Ride went down about half way through the line. Decided to wait. No harm, no foul.

Longest I've ever waited was for about 90 minutes for Splash Mountain back in early 90s. I would never wait that long for any ride today. Thirty minutes is about as long as I can take today.
