2 Hours Wasted or Not?

I'd never wait two hours for any attraction. The longest I've wait has probably been about an hour, but that was many years ago. Now I know when to get to the attractions and how to manage my day so that I don't have to wait in those ridiculous lines.

Heading for the great escape.
Back in the day before FP allegedly made waits really long we waited for 2 1/2 hours for Splash Mountain, the line was most entertaining given the themeing and the preponderance of Carmen Miranda wanna bes. The ride was great, but then all the effects worked.

My second trip to Disney, I waited 2 and a half hours for Soarin' because my kids had enjoyed it with their grandparents on a trip. I have never forgiven them or let them forget. I recently went back on a fastpass and I feel just as cheated. I do not see what people see in that ride.

I agree. We really enjoy Soarin but it is not at all worth a 2 hour wait!!! I also never understood that. AND a ton of people load at a time.

I've waited three hours to ride Millennium Force on its opening day. I was younger then. I wouldn't wait two hours for any attraction.

I was exceedingly jazzed about riding LM, but when I saw a 45 minute line, I decided to go back when the line was shorter. I just will not wait in long lines. Don't like them.

I'll be honest-never ever have we waited that long for a Disney attraction and absolutely never will.
Years ago as a kid before there was such a thing as Fasspass or express pass, we waited what seemed like forever for King Kong at Universal and it was torture. Waiting so long just isn't worth it to us when we take in so much more of the World than the attractions.
This is also because I have some claustrophobia issues and waiting in a long line, barely moving inside of a structure is difficult for me.
Totally agree with this. I just cant justify waiting 2 hours for anything to be honest, attraction or restaurant.

When I was young (the 80s) I remember waiting in long lines at the MK, we always went in summer or spring break thou. But in our last 5 trips (one trip a year since 08) We haven't wait more then 30mins for ANYTHING and I'm pretty sure that 30mins was TSMM. Its all time of year and knowing what your doing.

I would never wait more than 45mins for a ride, too long wasted when there are still plenty of other things to do or see. I also wouldnt stake a place for a parade any longer than that, especially if ive seen it before:)

I think I waited an hour for Soarin' once, simply because it was the end of the day, I wanted to cross it off my list, and it was there. I wouldn't wait two hours for anything though. 30 minutes is my max, and I purposely go during low crowd weeks. If I knew I was in for big crowds, I probably wouldn't go.

When soarin was new hubby and I waited about two hours for it. We arrived at WDW I the late afternoon and we were excited to ride soaring for the first time, when we got there it was so late and there were no fast passes left so since riding that ride was our main goal we waited. At the time since it was our first time ever it was worth it, I have never and would never wait that long for it again though.

Only people that don't know how to navigate the park and have never been to Disney would have to wait that long. Anything more than a 40 minute wait (and that's pushing it) is too long of a wait for me. I try to avoid crowded days. Last time I went to AK, I was able to go hit my four favorite attractions (Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Kali River Rapids, and Expedition Everest) all within an hour and a half AND rode Dinosaur and Everest twice. Granted it was 1.5 hours to closing time, but I rather do that then spend my whole day at the park waiting

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
When my parents (and brothers) went to WDW for the first time in the Summer of 1988, my husband (then boyfriend) told them that It's A Small World could not be missed. No matter what you do, he said, do not skip it.
They waited 2 hours, expecting something on par with Space Mountain.

Yeah, I still married him.

I will go on record here and say that NOTHING has ever been invented in the line of Theme Park Rides that would justify a 2 hour wait or a 1 hour wait or anything past 30 minutes. The 30 minute one would apply only to a buffet line. Just kidding, you have to wait for some things at Disney. It's the nature of the beast, but overly long lines, no. As pleasant or fun as many of the attractions are there is nothing really life changing about them. In other words, if you don't get to experience them, your life will go on unaltered.

It took me 5 years to ever ride Toy Story and that was because I happened by when there were still FP's available that fit my schedule. It was OK, but I'm glad I never waited hours for it. I would have been pretty upset with myself if I had, not to mention having wasted that much of my life that I can never get back.

There I feel better now.

After a 7 year hiatus from visiting the parks, in 2007 we were anxious to ride the "new" rides we'd never ridden. Of course it was December/Christmas, but my boys were 3 and we took advantage of "baby swap" to ride Splash, Thunder, and other E tickets. We never waited more than an hour. I couldn't stand 2 hours in a line! Test Track was about 1 1/2 hours when the boys were 4 and ready to ride it. At the time, it was well worth the wait. If it's my fave ride, I might wait, but being "smarter" now, I know how to "use" the system ( early morn EMH, FP, etc...):D

I don't know the longest I have waited, and I only use Fastpass or go on rides with short waits. But once, I read on another Disney forum that when Soarin' was closed due to a fire alarm going off, Figment and Nemo and Friends' wait times were both 325 minutes, and Sum Of All Thrills was an 169-minute wait.
Someone on a Disney message board said that one time, the wait for Dumbo was so long that they had to close the ride (BTW, it was two hours).
But Radiator Springs Racers had a 100-minute wait on my last trip to Disneyland...

We had the misfortune of waiting over 3 hours for Radiator Springs Racers, the line was supposed to be 2 hours which I thought was excessive, but it was the last day we were going to be in that park so I figured fine, lets get it over with... Little did we know that when we got up to the point we could actually see the cars the ride broke down and we waited and waited... moving up a bit more every 5 to 10 minutes as people in front of us gave up waiting and left... it was nearly an hour after it broke down that it came back online... We rode it, the kids enjoyed it... but even they decided after that, that it wasn't worth the wait and have never wanted to ride it again.... And no it wasn't worth it. It wouldn't be worth a 1 hour wait, maybe a 30 minute wait at best.
