Hi all,

This is my 1st time posting, hope this is the right forum...

Been goin to WDW for the last 20 years or so, but this is the 1st time we are staying at the Cabins in Fort Wilderness. We are going August 28 to Sept 2.

Any suggestions? I have some questions...Is a certain loop better than another? Can you ask for a loop or do they just assign you? Any tip or suggetsion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

To be honest, not much you need to know. Its real quiet, and the golf cart is a nice perk. If you want to save money on food, the bbq works great and hanging out on the deck is not bad, just make sure you have bug spray. I am leaving tomm., but as far as the hoops go it depends on you. Do you want to be closer to the buses(front of the resort) or to the boats and restaurants(back of the resort), that should help you determine the hoop you want. I just go with what they put me, the farther the better for my golf cart advertures lol.

We have stayed twice with our RV. Golf cart a must ... no, but it really is a lot of fun. You can shave a bunch of time off going to the marina or up to the front of the resort to catch a bus to the parks. What is really nice is when you are tired coming back from the parks and you can just hop in your cart and go to your site. I know that the 100 loop has been mentioned a couple of times. There are two cabins on that loop but I am not sure how often they are filled because our 10 day trip Sept '10 and our 7 day trip in June they were not full for most of the time.
Usually, you are in the cabin loops up towards the reception post. You will have to either take a bus or walk if you want to got to the Meadows pool complex because there isn't car parking available for more than 15 minutes. And you would want to plan on a bus or a cart to get to the marina for the launch to the MK or for the fireworks on the beach and electric light pagent every evening; you don't want to miss this! The quiet pool was very nice when we were there in Sept but it was closed for renovations this past May - June. I peaked through the fence and saw a whole bunch of dirt. So it will be interesting to see what they have done with it. I hope the deep end is still intact when they are done. We like to swim laps and DH is 6' 2" and finds it difficult in shallow water.
Sorry, I degress... enjoy your trip, the campgrounds are lovely and it is so relaxing!
