Like A rapids version of Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld?

Haha jk, this sounds like a solid plan. Could get a big Quetzalcoatl AA too which would be neat?
Oh, good call! A large Quetzacoatl AA would make for a strong sight. Perhaps we would even start the ride as visiting guests seen as selfless enough to be in El Dorado, but the arrival of those greedy explorers lead Quetzacoatl to have to send us away for our safety as he wipes away the city from their presence.

I think it’d be cool if the Quetzalcoatl was outside but hidden to the point it can only be seen on the ride, not the queue or anything. It could also be cool if it could be seen from the family coaster!!

It's not perfect, but it's a start. I can edit once descriptions of the rides and shops are in. I tried to make it feel like a lost city in the jungle, but I need to add more buildings but idk how many shops we’ll have.

Also, holy cow this was difficult to make, but I’m proud of it 😅😅

That looks amazing!!
Thanks! It only took around 4 hours to do 🤣🤣.

But yeah, I think it just needs a little more detail on the city part and once @DashHaber gets shops and ride done (if we have time of course) I’ll touch it up a bit.

I’ll have animal trails, dining, and Quetzalcoaster up midday through evening tomorrow. Ideally I’ll be done my stuff around 8pm ish

I'll have my ride (which I'm calling Voyage to El Dorado) ready tomorrow along with the shops.

I'm doing some fine-tuning on the attraction, along with trying to best capture the feel for these shops to go along with the land.

I have been absolutely swamped this week. I will have the website all set up tonight for everything with my parts coming sometime tomorrow evening!

The website has been updated. It doesn't have subsections for dining and shopping but everything else has subsections. I can make sure it is all linked properly as we go throughout the day tomorrow.

Also, so that he (or others) could find their way back to El Dorado, Dr. Erie made a map leading from the shore:

Hey, there. Here's a rough draft of Voyage to El Dorado. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions on it.

Voyage to El Dorado
(Magnet-powered boat ride)
Climb into your raft and journey deep into the Mesoamerican jungles to see if you are worthy to witness the wonder of El Dorado. Those who are selfless and give may see the legendary City of Gold, but the selfish shall find their dreams dashed by raging waters.

Ride Exterior: Among the jungle scenery, guests are greeted by an impressive sight. Standing before them is a golden Mesoamerican pyramid. Carved heads of serpents are perched on each level of the pyramid, with a long flight of stairs leading to its top. At the bottom of the stairs stands an entrance, waiting for guests to pass within.

1280px-15-07-14-Edzna-Campeche-Mexico-RalfR-WMA_0700-edit.jpg

Queue: Entering the temple, guests do not find the same golden sheen that they saw outside. They find a dark stone chamber, whose main hall is adorned by an Aztec-style calendar baring the face of Quetzalcoatl in the center. The railings can be set up as an intricate maze on busier days, but most should be an easy step through the chamber. Guests would head further down a network of stone hallways. The walls feature an intricate series of carvings, depicting the history of El Dorado: the city’s founding, its selfless trade, an invasion by jaguar warriors thwarted by Quetzalcoatl, and then the city disappearing as Quetzalcoatl takes human form.

Eventually, guests reach the loading dock. The crumbling temple has a river running through it, along with a boat that arrives waiting. Guests climb aboard, and once they are safely in, set course down river.

Ride Description: Emerging out of the temple, we sail down river into the Mesoamerican jungle. The atmosphere is tense, the only sounds being the wildlife living among the trees. Jaguars (animatronic figures) watch us as we pass, keeping an eye on us. The peace is broken by a voice that says, “Many have ventured in these jungles, following legends in pursuit of a treasure for their selfish desires.” The voice’s words are punctuated by ruined jeeps, broken down on the riverside. “Their hearts were not pure, but I can see the spirit within you. You do not wish to take. You wish to learn and share alike.” Our boat moves toward another crumbling temple, as the voice says with grave certainty, “Thus, you shall be granted access to our city.”

jaguar_jungle_1big_stock.jpg

Entering the temple, the crumbling walls appear to shine and sparkle. Life seems to emerge bit by bit in the stone walls, as we enter a larger chamber in front of a screen. The screen depicts a jungle shrouded in mist, until a Mesoamerican king in robes (an animatronic figure, and the source of the voice) gestures out and says, “Welcome…to El Dorado.” The mist fades away, as shimmering buildings of gold seem to fade into reality. Continuing, we sail down another hallway in the temple, but there is no crumbling stonework here. The walls shine and shimmer with their golden gleam, as a horde of treasure sits all around us. Past the horde is an impressive section of wall art, depicting numerous groups trading at El Dorado. The king’s voice continues, “Our wealth is not in gold. It is in the ideas and knowledge shared with us and by us that made this land so special.”

We sail into what appears to be a throne room, with the king seated on this throne. He extends a hand and asks, “Now, please, share your knowledge with me.” Before we can answer, a car horn blares as distant lights pierce the darkness. Voices clamor, claiming to see a building of gold and to get the boats ready. “Intruders! They must not disturb the city,” the king remarks, as a green glow seems to emanate from him while we drift towards the right of the chamber. “My apologies, but for your safety, I must send you away,” and with another gesture, he sends us hurtling out of the temple.

Emerging back outside, our boat sails down past a pack of jaguars who hiss as we pass. Our boat manages to turn around and right itself, but now we get a clear view of our downriver trek. We sail past rocks in the raging rapids, and face down a pack of piranha that leap out with a mean bite. From somewhere in the jungle, we hear screams from men yelling to abandon ship. Eventually, our boat comes to a smoother pace as we pass by a wrecked ship, presumably from the recent treasure hunters. We pass through some outdoor temple grounds, the gold sheen fading away into worthless rock. Among the temple grounds, we get our grandest visual: Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent and giant audio-animatronic. He remarks, “You are always welcome to return, but you must keep the secret of El Dorado safe with you. Knowledge is precious, but some only see the gleam of gold.”

With his wise message given, our boat enters the pyramid once more as we pull up to the unloading area.

Today has been chaotic and then some.

I will have a draft for thoughts up within the next few hours to then put on the site with images before the deadline!

Hope everyone else is going well with their work too!

Here are the shops I had come up with.

Wind and Wisdom
Quetzalcoatl is known as a god of wisdom and learning, and this temple housing a bookstore is devoted to that tenet of his nature. You can find plenty of stories from around the world that Quetzalcoatl has collected, but there is also a special collection devoted to the history and mythologies of Mesoamerica.

Tlazotia
Coming from a Nahuatl word which means “to make precious”, this store is devoted to offering things that can find precious. Inside this golden shop, guests can find lovely jewelry and gems for purchase, along with collectible art pieces inspired by Mesoamerican culture, such as the famous Olmec colossal heads. You can be sure to find something that can become precious to you.

Jaguar’s Den
The jungles may abound with life that can seem threatening, but this shop can help show the beauty in that nature. Discover plenty of apparel and collectibles inspired by the wildlife, from hummingbird-inspired keychains to plush jaguar dolls.

Trade Winds
Many have come to El Dorado to share and trade their goods, and this larger marketplace store shares many of those goods. Here, guests can find a wide assortment of Disney-related merchandise for sale, along with collectibles themed around El Dorado and small snacks to enjoy as you explore the City of Gold.

The Hunt for the Golden City

Guests enter the outdoor but roofed amphitheatre (similar to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular or Waterworld).

To stage left and centre, a small golden temple with a moat around it. In the area on and around the temple, a few citizens can be seen doing various work. A king can be seen at the top of the temple. Stage right is a fairly large and open place. A small row of trees in the middle separates the temple in stage left and the open area of stage right. A large jungle backdrop can be seen with a few real trees hiding entrances to not make it obvious.

The show starts with Spanish Conquistadors entering the stage from the stairs all around guests. This group can be seen looking high and low. Suddenly, the leader shouts “Dónde está El Dorado?” and the men run off stage without ever seeing the temple.

Up next, a group of Jaguar Warriors enter the scene.

fCterBUwXaF7TJgyOkfQp7rFkrUkI_ZSfN3PWw3bbdf2EXZPGIep1wsECpAwHApxIHOKkOJ0iwM6h-yKjBEpSnlr8sbQysLylQ4L6mad2cH7b9kt486__r3CYZIBMRY03xMyVcvS

These warriors rush through the few trees splitting off stage right and stage left to see the Golden Temple. The first few citizens of El Dorado seem to put up a fight with the warriors but with a few stunt fights ending briefly, the rest accept the warriors in. As the warriors head toward the temple, they can be seen grabbing fruit and other food from the El Doradeans.

When they reach the top of the temple, the king explains that all these warriors have done is take take take. And that without giving back, the city of El Dorado will never be a place for them.

Quickly, the king's robes are pulled off to reveal he is Quetzalcoatl himself (full bird suit underneath) and through the use of a harness, Quetzacoatl flys through the air knocking the warriors off of their feet and into the moat below. The warriors all get up and run back through the forest and out of the city.

Offstage, drilling, shouting for the golden city, and overall chaos can be heard as people try to find this mystical land. The citizens of El Dorado are not worried about this as they can be seen carrying on with their everyday work.

New men and women arrived at El Dorado. By sheer accident, they stumbled into the area. Much like the previous men before them, this group was focused on greed and what they could take instead of being selfless. Because of that, Quetzalcoatl (disguised as the king again) took this group up into the building’s rafters to never be seen again.

At this point, Quetzalcoatl talks to the audience about El Dorado. He explains just what El Dorado is, and the importance of being selfless over selfish.

After this, an unnamed woman appeared on stage right. She walked in appearing to read a map so found her way through to El Dorado. Once there, a civilian offered her a piece of fruit. In return, the woman offered the civilian some coins back as payment, to which to civilian refused, the woman then offered her map, the civilian accepted. As she continued on, more and more civilians offered her gifts, and every time, the woman would stop until she made sure that the civilians got something back that they were interested in.

When she reaches Quetzacoatl, he explains how she exemplified being selfless and that that’s actually the key to El Dorado. Not having yourself as the only focus opens up new worlds to what is all around you.

With that, El Dorado transforms: more golden towers are brought on stage, fountains start “dancing” in the moat, the civilians all come together in song and dance.

With that, guests leave the show with an important lesson of being selfish or being selfless.

Thoughts? I still have lots of time to edit it based on feedback! I will grab images in the meantime.
