That looks more like the unbuilt concepts of the early HM.

From RavenswoodManor.com
"This drawing was done by Disney artist Harper Goff it was his sketch of a residential street that was planned but ultimately abandoned for Disneyland’s Main Street which started the history of Phantom Manor."

I showed these to my University students today and they had interesting reactions! Many of them are Disney fans and/or live near Orlando. I told them that they were taken in 1976. Best questions were "Why don't you have any of Epcot? and Wonder what the Wifi was like way back then?".

Hi all...I've used this site for years but didn't realize they had a message board community! So I'm new!

I'm a professor of art/design and a long time WDW fan. I was at my Mother's house a few days ago and we were cleaning out a closet and found some old slide carousels. I found a batch of WDW slides from around 1976. I scanned them in and tried to clean them up a little bit (although I like the 'instagrammed' quality of old Kodachrome slides.

This is the first batch...it takes a while to clean them up. Hope you enjoy them.

Dubman,

Would you allow me to post these on a follow up article on my site? I would like to see more if you have them and share them. People really love these types of images from the Magic Kingdom!

Cool photos :D I love seeing old Disney park photos.
Not sure about WDW, but wasn't Walt insistent that the outside of the mansion NOT appear dilapidated? At least for the Disneyland original one. I'm fairly sure he was...shooting down many concepts that showed a run down mansion.
which if you ask me is kind of odd. I mean, I know Walt wanted his park to always look pristine and shiny and new but it's a haunted house. that kind of goes synonymous with run down, and dilapidated.
