I am a bit annoyed that there are SO many PRINCESS character meals, but really none that are geared for BOYS? I wish they would come up with a Pirates of the Caribbean dinner show or character dining experience. That would be great. But my boys HAVE seen Alice in Wonderland(w/Johnny Depp) and loved it and I had heard great things about the food and the characters, but heard that it was VERY girly decor and VERY NOISY. Would my boys enjoy the character breakfast at 1900 park Fare? is there a non-Mickey n the gang character meal that they would enjoy?

Our 7 year old seems to like the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We've gone each time we've been to Disney (3 times in 3 years, most recently this past January), and he's never complained.

The food has been pretty good, and we've had good service each time. It is a bit noisy, but tolerable.

The characters have always been pretty good. My son has no problem standing with them for pictures. Alice and Mary Poppins told him that he was a very handsome young man, and I think I actually saw him blush!

I feel your pain. I have an 8 year old that is extremely anti-princess. Our last trip he down-right refused any princess meetings. HOWEVER he will eat in the castle cuz it's cool to say you ate in the castle. When we began talking ideas of places to eat this summer the 2 character meals he is 100% game for are Garden Grill and Hollywood & Vine (mainly for his little brother). He said he will go back to castle cuz he knows I like it :)

Thank you!

I appreciate the advice from both of you. We have enjoyed the Hollywood and Vine and Cape May Cafe is a great breakfast character meal and the Garden Grill was great too. our boys favorite is Ohana's. But we've been there and done that enough times. The Crystal Palace is hands down our TOP favorite character meal- well, it's my favorite anyway- love the food, service is always good, and makes me feel like a little girl again. LOVE pooh and the gang, especially Eeyore! : ) I wish that they would do a variety of characters, though- like switch out the characters- i HAVE seen "Captain Jack" running around the Magic kingdom and doing shows. would that not be SO cool if they changed out the characters at CP and did a pirate character meal/show? I am looking forward to the Beauty and the Beast restaurant scheduled to open late this year/early next year. That would be one i would DEFINITELY get reservations to. Thanks again for the input. Have a Magical day!

I know exactly where you are coming from. We have that issue too... I've have done the breakfast there w/my son and he seemed to really enjoy it. Our favorite character breakfasts are at Tusker House and Ohana, they are definitely less "girly"

We haven eaten at 1900 Park Fare before & after the stepmother & stepsisters became regular characters there...I would have to say that my boys enjoyed eating there more when those particular characters were featured...they are definately worth seeing...my boys & girl all enjoyed them...they are great!

I have been saying for years they need a slightly more boy themed character meal. I always thought a Toy Story meal would be good, geared towards boys but girls would enjoy it as well. My poor son has been subjected to many princess meals to make his sister happy and I always feel a little bad because the night usually ends up looking like this picture I shot:

DEFINATELY!! Not only is it one of the best breakfast buffets in our opinion but the Mad Hatter and Tigger are a hoot! We have a girl and a boy. The other Charachter meal that sticks out (as far as the Charachters go) is Chip and Dale at Garden Grill. The food was COMPLETELY forgetable!! It was neat how the restaurant spun and Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Mickey dressed in the country garb were really cute The interaction there was great!!

Absolutely. We have one of each gender to appease. My son loved the Mad Hatter at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, and he also enjoyed Pooh and Tigger. Mary Poppins acted like a true prim and proper nanny so she wasn't necessarily more girl-oriented. Alice may be more girlish, but not as much as a princess certainly. I didn't find the decor there feminine at all. It wasn't any noisier than any other character meal. And it's the only place you can get strawberry soup for breakfast which was to-die-for (can you say 4 bowls!). I'd highly recommend the place for breakfast for a boy.
