180+10 and FP+ system

Last month, I booked a room at All Star Movies for May 2015. Initially, it was my intention to pay the deposit for ASM, then upgrade later to POR so that I did not have to pay the whole deposit all at once. However, for reasons of cost and family size, I decided it would be best to stay in an offsite condo, which I booked last week. I still have my booking in place for ASM, thinking I will hold onto it long enough to make my ADRs at the 180+10 mark, and then a couple weeks later, cancel the booking and the refunded deposit would just go to pay for one of our ADRs which require payment at the time of booking.

The thing I am curious about, though, is if under this new system, if dining reservations are somehow linked with the room reservation such that by cancelling the room, it would also cancel all my ADRs associated with that room reservation? I would make sure not to cancel the room only ressie until all my ADRs were under 180 days out, but I just want to make sure that I don't lose them all just by cancelling the room.

Dining and room reservations are linked on DME. Be cautious - if you cancel your room and you are not within the window of non resort guests making ADRs your dining may be cancelled as well. Though I could be wrong

Yes, I also would assume that if I cancel my reservation before all of my ADRs are within the 180 window, then those ADRs that are still more than 180 days out (like 181 days out, 182, etc) would be cancelled. My 180 day mark is Nov 25 this year. I am talking about booking my ADRs on the 25th, then waiting until Dec 15 or thereabouts to cancel my room only reservation, such that all my ADRs are now under 180 days out. I'm just not sure how, if at all, this new system would affect that.

Although they all show up as 'reservations' on MDE, they are on two separate reservation systems. Your dining reservations will not be canceled if you cancel your resort reservation.
