Ouch...couldn't disagree more...the current musical score is friggin' amazing. The strong string works--gives me goosebumps.

I've got to agree. The current SSE score is one of the best in Disney history, IMO. However, I would love to see New Horizons or Tomorrow's Child brought back in an updated form. Both songs would fit with that it seems that Siemens is trying to do with the attraction. You wouldn't want to put the original versions of either of those songs back in, but doing something like what was done in the American Adventure for "Golden Dreams" would be perfect.

I would hate to see the current finale music go!! It always gives me goosebumps and I think it is spectacular with the lighting at the end.

I just wish that I could see it one more time before it closed for the rehab. But I welcome the new additions, and it would be really cool to hear the old horizons song make a comeback, I love that song.

If they updated the music it would be great but I myself really doubt they would do that. To me this would be nice but will other people even notice?

Ya know, I love SSE. I loved both versions of it that I got to experience.

But Epcot needs a real "icon" right now. SSE really is just functioning as a pretty shiny ball at the front of the park. It's not the landmark attraction that everyone "just has to" go on.

For that, i'm willing to give up the current score. There are 11,200 parking spaces (give or take) in the Epcot parking lot. On an average day they only park four of the lots, not even to capacity.

Imagine lines to ride SSE from morning until night. 30-45mins to ride the park's icon? Sounds about right.. but as it stands, SSE is luckey to reach 20mins most days. It has to break down or load a few wheelchairs to pull that off.

I love SSE. I ride it almost every time I visit Epcot - I waited 30mins for it when I rode it with my family back when it was the Cronkite version. Now, I would not wait more then 10mins for it, and that's only if I really felt like it. Most days I ride it because it's a walk-on and "right there." It's not currently worth 30mins or more. I doubt few of you would be willing to wait 30mins or more for the current SSE. It's really not an exciting draw anymore. It needs to be.

Lets hope it becomes that again.

If The Seas rehab is any indication, I have the utmost faith in the ability of the current imagineering team to return SSE to it's former glory. Just take one look at the postshow under construction - the design screams old epcot. I couldn't be happier thus far. I think we need to turn our attention to Imagination, not to hijack the thread...I haven't heard anything on it in a long time and now we're almost 1/4 of the way through 07...

I have really been surprised by the great rehabs at EPCOT over the last three years or so - Seas, El Rio, The Land, new China film, etc. I believe that the "new" SSE and its companion post show are really going to be fantastic new attractions for the park. From everything I have read this rehab will really be in the spirit of "old" EPCOT. Taking SSE's core show scenes and adapting a Horizon's like storyline - I just can't see how WDI could go wrong here. I am really excited.

(just take down the wand!!!)

I agree with most of what you said, but when Epcot was designed there were hardly any on-site resorts. I think most people in the parks use WDW Transportation.

I don't know if anyone else noticed or not but this weekend they were testing out a green pinpoint laser on the left side right before you enter the "light bar" tunnel. This is the first time I have seen this and I just now remembered about it so I thought I would share.
Apparently it`s a 1994 laser that has only been working again the past few months.

They've also made it a lot darker overall - don't know if it's a temporary or permanent thing. Usually I can turn around and see the old space station quite clearly - when I rode it this weekend I couldn't make it out at all. I videotaped the entire attraction on my camera, but the light levels made it difficult.

In the last week of two they FINALLY fixed the lightbleed in the 180 top. No more fuzzy-clouds (unintentional) over the area where the vehicles are rotating backwards for descent.

At the same time, many of the fiberoptics are dead. The globe before the communication tunnel has none of them working, and only half of the global neighborhood vignettes work.

That said, there's lots of apparent animatronic work - who knew Michelangelo shifted his weight and lifted his knee while painting the sistine chapel?

Who knew the girl-ish looking poet in the renaissance on the steps was meant to shift his/her weight, blink and look from side to side, actually sort of looking bored listening to the presentation?

Who knew the Pharaoh's hand was supposed to swirl in a loopy motion as he rambles "on.. and on... and on..." so-to-speak?

The newspaper printer guy actually reads the paper he's looking at! His eyes are capable of following it from side to side, and turning his neck!

So some animatronics are definately getting some love.

Man, I don't even know what that song is but I would support it if it meant no more complaining about Horizons being removed 8 years ago....

obviously this ride positively affected many riders that post here.... I think that is a good thing, and worth a few extra threads you don't necc. have to read.
