Pre-Trip 15 days to go but will we actually be there??

After 7 months of planning we are only 2 short weeks away from spending a glorious warm week at AoA!! So what could be wrong? My dear dad has been in failing health for the past 3 months now. No specific ailment except for a known cardiac issue; mostly just wearing out I think. He's 87 and his time may be coming to an end. He is getting hospice care at home and most of us kids live within 10 minutes of him and my mother so we've all been active in one another's lives forever. We do have trip insurance in case the worst happens. But, now, for the happy part!!!

Who's going you ask? I don't want to invade anyone's privacy without their consent so for now let's call them:
Me - Tricia
Schmoody - my daughter 28yo
Schmuppie - niece #1 soon to be 29yo
Schumppie's DH - 33yo
Kittie - niece #2 24yo
Shishi - Kittie's BF - 24yo

(Confession: I could come up with photos of my 9 kitties but not of my 5 traveling companions!)

When - April 13 - 19
Where? - AoA, Finding Nemo suite

Schmuppie's DH is the one who suggested this trip and we all excitedly agreed. He and Schmuppie have been crazy enough to drive down (from Philadelphia, PA!!) for a weekend trip! They go way more often than any of us and are huge fans. Kittie hasn't been since since was a pre-schooler and Shishi has never been. The last time Schmoody and I were there was for her 16th birthday. So, as it stands right now, we have all agreed we will never allow Schmuppie's husband to decide the date, hotel, or mode of transportation. He picked what has to be one of the most expensive times of the year to go and also one of the busiest times. Ugh!! We're none to happy about that but enough complaints.

Part of the package we have is the DDP so I can tell you I was on-line 6:00 AM 180 days out and made all the reservations. Most of my research beforehand came from this board so I felt very well prepared to choose the right restuarants. I didn't want to overplan for anyone so most days I reserved only dinner but a couple of days I added either breakfast or lunch. So, Sunday we arrive and I've got reservations for Raglan Road for dinner!! No plans for any park that night. Thought we'd play it by ear since we are driving down in an RV the day before.

Monday, we will be celebrating Schmoodie's and Schmuppie's birthdays. Their birthdays are 29 days apart and we will be there right in the middle of both of them. I'm making birthday t-shirts for them and also bought tiaras and minnie mouse ears for the girls. Still haven't thought of what to have for the boys to wear yet but I'll think of something. Schmuppie insisted on starting Monday at MK so breakfast at CP that morning and dinner at BOG!!! Can not wait!! Beauty and the Beast was actually the last film I saw when the kids were little so one of my favorites (except for Frozen!! - love, love, love it!).

The rest of the week will be:
Tuesday - Le Cellier
Wednesday - Boma
Thursday - Mamma Melrose and Brown Derby
Friday - 1900 Park Fare and Kona

You can tell which park will be in by seeing what restaurants I've picked.

FP+s are selected and lists have been made! All that's left to do is make a decison regarding memory Maker or purchase a decent phone, pack, make meatballs for the trip down (Schmoodie is making lasagne), and buy a couple of bottles of wine and a bottle of whiskey! And if Dad could stay out of the hospital for a month that would be really great!

I will do my best to get a trip report in once we're back. Twelve years away but I'm finally getting back there!!

I loved the Easter we spent at WDW. It wasn't that busy at all compared to Thanksgiving and the days were warm and the eves cool, so perfect weather.
So sorry about your dad's failing health.

Well, that is good news about the crowds! I hope we'll be as lucky! And thank you for the kind words regarding my dad. He is a true prince of a man!
