When we visit the MK in December we are planning (or should i say IM planning on taking my BF with me for the ride..lol) on going on a Sat where the park will be open until 11p.m. Am I being unrational to think that we can stay at the park from open to close?? Thats 12 hours. Its also our only day @ MK. Does anybody else spend that much time there? I just dont think Ill get tired of it!!!

Not really - I did it last year. I was able to get on all the rides, eat and people watch. Stay hydrated.

You will be fine. The weather is nice in December and that plays a huge factor in being able to hang out in the parks all day long.

the park opens at 11a on a saturday?I would think it would be earlier and you would be there much longer.(which would be fantastic!)

Just be sure to allow time to sleep in the next morning and get an amazing night's sleep the night before! It can totally be done, though. Take something with you like a game to play in the queue's, and don't turn down suggestions to sit for a while or ride things like TTA a few times in a row.

Have fun!

Just pace yourself and take time to stop at a bench or 2 for a brief respite or take a couple rides on TTA and relax that way.I love that ride when I need a break as it is so relaxing.Enjoy your time

Well I have a total of 20 attractions that I would like us to try during the day. Do you think 20 attractions is too ambitious? We will be going on Sat. Dec. 13th...so crowds SHOULD be lighter....

We never get there at open (because we're FL residents and I hate mornings) but we've arrived around 10am or 11am and stayed easily until 1:30am before. So yeah, it's easily doable. It's easier when it's less crowded ironically though just because you get less crowd fatigue.

When we did NYE a few years back we arrived in the parking lot around 9:45am, got to the park around 11:15am (yeah it took that long to park and get to the gates of MK), stayed until after midnight, and got back to the car after 2am. THAT day was hard because of the time it took to do everything and to deal with the MASS of people.

Normal days though? Not nearly as bad. Just wear comfy shoes and relax as needed. :)

Go for it. I always plan an all-day visit to MK when I'm visiting the parks. I'm not usually there for 12 straight hours, but I've pushed a good 10 or 11 before. Just make sure that you wear something you're going to be comfortable in for that length of time and anything else you may need through out the day.

Last Saturday I stayed at the Magic Kingdom from 9am until after Wishes at 9pm. We did the big E-ticket rides in the morning and then did all the sit down attractions in the afternoon. It worked pretty well. Make sure you get plenty to drink, and eat. You should be able to see everything you want. :)

I highly recommend a spin on the TTA whenever you need a rest. It's my favorite thing about spending a whole day in the park.
Often, my boyfriend and I will do the "What should we do next?" "-shrug... look at map- TTA?" bit and we'll stay on there for a while to rest up for the next queue.

Wear good shoes!

I went to DLR this summer and i was only there for 3 days so I maximized my time at the parks (literally on Disney property from 7:45am-12:15am for two days in a row) and I was not wearing the right shoes so my arches were hurting from it for a week. It really put a damper on the second day. Wear legitimate tennis shoes if you can.

I was surprised how well the weekend went... it's amazing what running on excitement/adrenaline and sugar can do to a person's stamina.

I'll repeat what everyone else has already said, stay hydrated and pace yourself. Besides the TTA being a lifesaver, you could also hop on the monorail for a little while if you get burnt out of being outside or if it rains (just remember to get your hand stamped for re-entry).

Last year I think i spent that much time one day at Magic Kingdom. Maybe longer. The day we arrived we got to the Magic Kingdom around 8Pm and stayed until 2 in the morning. Woke up the next morning and spend an entire day at the magic kingdom. Even right now im saying "what the heck did I do to fill all the time" but really....theres a million things to do and see. I did do repeats on just about everything but thats ok :)

Your feet are gonna feel it though. Just to warn ya. Try to take more breaks, I should have. I think we followed it up with a full day visit to Animal Kingdom the following day as well. Was a bit much haha. I was in commando mode though...this year gonna try to take it a little easier

We usually spend full days in all the parks - opening until after the last firework has popped (or after the parade at AK). There's plenty to do - just pace yourselves

Another thing to add is that if you feel that you need a break from the park you could always hop on a monorail and visit the Poly, GF, or the Contemporary. A steady supply of sugar, water, and caffeine also does wonders.:animwink:
