11.00 World Showcase?

Just a quick one here.Does anyone know the reason behind World Showcase opening at 11.00 and not 9.00 like Future World.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason is that since most guests arrive at the main entrance in Future World, the World Showcase remained virtually empty until 11:00 or 12:00 noon. I for one used to love to be able to walk in World Showcase before the crowds got to large.

What if you stay at an Epcot resort (Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach), can you still get into Epcot via the International Gateway??

You can still get in thru the International Gateway but there are cast members directing you into future world.

Maybe I am wrong.... I am just taking a guess...

Cast members in Future World are mostly americans, and the CM´s in WSC are mostly internationals, so, bringing more of them to have them openning WSC earlier would cost a little more. The shifts at the Pavillions start between 9:30-10:00am anyways, plus you have to add moving those CM´s from the apt. complexes, time for changing into costumes, etc.

I don´t know....just a wild guess... After working there, I really liked not having WSC openning at the same time as FW. CM´s point of view! hehe ;)

One reason I heard was to allow Guests to take pictures of the architechture and the like without many people getting in the way. Also, WSC may open a little later, and this is just a guess, to allow the many wandering performers to get their acts together for daily performances. This is just a guess...:D :D

Unfortunately, you can't get into WS early to photograph the architecture. I think it was just a matter of cost. Disney was paying people to staff empty attractions, stores, etc.

When I stayed at the BoardWalk with my family last August, we went into Epcot through the International Gateway right as it opened at nine and we were able to wander around World Showcase, taking photos as we went. A few Cast Members did stop us to tell us that we should go to Future World, but then they smiled and gave us an "Go ahead, we won't tell on you" kind of look.:)

When we walked over from the Boardwalk, the cast members absolutely would not let into WS. Either you were lucky or we were unlucky. Obviously, sometimes CM can or will bend "the rules" but not always.(or we didn't look trustworthy?):(

Maybe they didn´t let you go because what you would see would ruin the "show": cleaning cars, hoses, garbage being taken out, maintenance crews, etc., Guests shouldn´t be around for safety reasons!

Of course, there are some other times, like close to 11:00am when they are almost ready and don´t mind about letting you go. ;-)

Wow, you must be very young Mom... My daughter just turned 44 last (Tuesday 1/16/2018, just in case this gets revived in another 17 years):D
There's a better then even chance that I will not be able to respond to that one. So this is just here for posterity.
