101st U.S. Open

I just want to congratulate this year's victor of the 101st U.S. Open, Retief Goosen. What an awesome tournament! The 18-hole playoff today showcased some spectacular play from both him and Mark Brooks, but it's good to see Goosen come out on top. He earned it.

And what did he earn? Not only a lot of exemptions in upcoming tournaments (including exemption for the next 10 U.S. Opens), but a nice payment of $900 000, the largest in open history. Again, congrats to Goosen!

I didn't see the playoff today but that was some 18th hole yesterday...now you know what they mean when they say:

"You 'drive' for show, but you 'putt' for the dough!"
