Hi all

This is my first time to Orlanda so not sure if there might be any unexpected costs I might get.
What I have paid for so far
This is for 1 adult 1 child
Onsite at Coranado spring resort. paid
no car
Flight paid
Disney quick service dinning plan. paid
Disney tickets 21 days. paid
universal tickets 14 days , going 3 days to universal parks. paid
Discovery cove + seaworld , 1 day at each park. paid
passport paid
Estas paid
Travel insurance paid
Travel from home to airport paid

The only things I can think of now is

transport cost to Universal/Seaworld parks
shopping costs
Drinks,icecream eg

I have an unexpected cost just hit me and only expect to save up about 1000-1500 pounds for the holiday.
I am starting to worry now so am asking is there any other costs that I have not thought of.

Thanks

Food while at Universal? I know you have the dinning plan for while at Disney but food at Universal and the other parks are not the cheapest thing but the 1000-1500 pounds should be more than enough for that..

As two adults with no dining plan we usually budget $1000 each per week and usually don't hit it.

With your food paid it should be a lot less.

You'll be fine. I have $1,500 set aside for an upcoming one-week trip but I expect a full 2/3 of that will be food. So at $500 US per week, you're about where I am and then some. You'll be good.

Does Magic express work for international travelers? If so- sign up for it, and it is your transportation to and from the airport to the hotel.

I think that is more than enough money - you will love it. Wear very comfortable shoes- you will walk more than you can imagine... but it is so worth it!

Disney's Magical Express
As a guest staying in a Disney hotel you are eligible for Disney's Magical Express transfer service which provides FREE transportation from and to Orlando International (MCO

I do get the Magical Express :)
Also I get free cost of the Disney buses.
The heat will take a bit of getting used to but I am a keen walker so I should be ok.
My 11 year old daughter should be fine as well as i am going to hit the parks at a slow pace.
Thanks

Slowing down and just enjoying, instead of trying to do everything is the best Disney advice I ever got. It took a little trying and we had to actually make ourselves slow down, but just that simple step improved our touring immensely.

Transport to Universal will be easiest by Taxi. No idea the cost. A guess would be US$20 or more each way. Public transit is not convenient and takes two buses and an hour and a half I would guess. Sea World is jot so bad on the public bus. One bus from Disney and maybe 30 to 45 minutes. Like at home you can buy a day pass but have small bills to purchase on the bus. Your hotel can help you with taxi rates and bus routes. Have a great time. Cheers.

We're travelling from the UK and, like you, have the tickets, dining plan, hotel and transers via MDE all through our package, but are moving over to Universal for the last part of our trip. I made a plan of additional spending so I could budget. It will mostly be for food at Universal and a taxi to get over there. At Disney, the only things we need to take care of are tips and deciding how much to set aside for souvenirs. A taxi from Universal to Disney last trip cost us $50, including tip, one way and that's roughly what we're budgeting for this trip. Eating light at Universal won't cost too much. Your dining plan gives you each a snack and that can be anything from a cupcake to an ice cream to a pretzel. It's the Mickey ears and Olaf plush toys that will run away with your cash!!

The taxi cost was worrying me as I want to be at the parks for rope drop.
Does the buses that take you to SeaWorld , Discovery cove pick you up from downtown Disney ?
I was also looking at getting memory maker so I will not buy it until I have over £1000 pound spending money.

Thanks all

I concur with the above posters, you should be fine. I'm like you as far as better to be safe than sorry, I saved up $5000 for Dining, Souvenirs, and other possible expenses when me and my girl go to Disney World. I see it like this, no matter what country you're from, no amount is too high for a big vacation like Disney or Universal for that matter. Whatever you have leftover, you can consider that a profit & use it towards your regular bills. LOL.

As a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) we used to budget £1,000 per week to cover us for all food and drink and souvenirs. Any large purchases we'd put on a credit card.
As there are only two of you your stated budget will be fine. You only need $$ for food at Uni and SeaWorld and your transportation costs to/from these parks. You'll also need $$ for any additional food and souvenir purchases within Disney.
Unless you have a poor credit rating I'd apply for a credit card (in case you haven't already got one) and use it in case of emergencies. DO NOT use it to get any cash advances either at home or abroad

mears do a shuttle bus to universal and discovery cove, cost me and my best friend $20 each return from our resort. just go down to the reception and they'll book you one with a time you want to leave the resort and the time you want to leave the park. its very easy

Having just got back from Disney, I can tell you exactly! From the main entrance of Coronado Springs to Universal Studios, we paid $45 (which included tip). On the way back, we had the taxi drop us off at Downtown Disney and that one was $32 (which included tip). Cost for the trip was for two of us and it didn't matter if we were in a sedan (which sat 3) or a van (which sat like 6... not sure if they charge more if you are in a van with more people, might be something to look into). We typically tip taxi's somewhere between 15-20% so you can figure out how much the actual ride was from that. As you can see, getting dropped off/picked up at Downtown Disney will save you some money if you don't mind the transfer from the resort buses (which will take you to Downtown Disney for free), though you'd have to check how early the buses start going to Downtown Disney if you wanted to use that option getting there. There was almost always a cab waiting at the resort and if there wasn't, when the Disney CM called for one, they would usually get there pretty quickly (<5 mins).

I think monetarily you will be OK. Discovery Cove comes with meals included. This means just Sea World and Universal for covering meals. Getting to Universal, Discovery Cove, and Sea World is going to cost you a lot of money. That is 5 trips to those parks totaling 10 each ways. You are looking at $400 in costs going back and forth. You would be far better served renting a car for those 5 days and do those parks all in a row while you have a rental car. I cheap rental car would cost about $120-$150 for 5 days. You may be able to get a better rate than that renting for a week.

That's just my $0.02 on it.
