I remember that! I Felt it down here in Eugene, I was in the middle of my sophomore english class and my chair shook a wee tiny bit, and i look to my friend and said " I think that was an earthquake...." "You Freak, Earthquakes are in California! Not here!"

That was my senior year... I was at lunch, and the ground started to shake. You'd be amazed how well those eartquake drills they made us do really sank in. Everyone in the cafeteria was under the tables in no time flat. It was kinda cool, actually. A really "waving" quake, rather than jarring. We all ditched out of school after that, and it took an hour and a half to get home. my bird's cage missed falling 6 feet to the floor by just a matter of inches, ditto for my TV. :p

Oh goodness, this news report is great. They are taking this movie WAY too seriously....

"Wow Tim. Pretty creepy material!"

Sad part is, these newscasters are better actors than those in the show.

They just did a report here on quake potential in San Diego, and they pointed out that most of the coastal areas of San Diego are built on the same loose soil that caused such bad damage in San Fransisco in 1989. Kinda creepy. :p

GASP! Now thats the most terrifying thing I've heard all night!

I was in the Great Quake of '89 in San Fran. The one that happened during the World Series. (Oct. 17th at 5:04 PM to be precise) and that was quite frightening. But then again, I was only 5 or 6, so really, my child mind probably took it to ginormous proportions.

I know! And that same TV, since it was saved, allowed me to watch the high quality programming that graced the airwaves this evening. ;)

One of my friends back home was in the SF quake, too. He was actually home alone while his parents were at the game when it hit.

They actually used a lot of the 89 Footage in the "Quality Programming this evening"...just throwing that in there.

It's a good thing they were there and not on the bridges or freeways...crunch crunch crunch....

WOW...I shouldn't have said that....that's kinda horrible. I retract the last few words of my previous post....I clicked submit without really thinking it over.

If I remember right, it was worse in Santa Cruz than it was in San Fran because the Epicenter was like right there....but even up in the bay we had the Bay Bridge partially collapse and the double decker Cypress Structure /880 Freeway collapse onto itself (which was the Crunch Crunch Crunch reference I made earlier) and then the aforementioned loose san francisco soil..

No, we're all saying that you missed a crappy show with idiots. I mean, what kinda president doesn't think the Golden Gate Bridge dropping into the bay isn't an extreme event?

This guy makes Bush seem like a genius. :hammer:

(I can say that since I'm a Registered Republican) :D
