1/12 Dumbo De-Construction

Saw a Dumbo fly today. He was tethered to the end of a crane.

Also, some pictures of the work near the old skyway

and finally a Monorail Shot just for fun!

I was bummed to hear that BTMRR was shut down, but if I can at least catch a glimpse of the new dumbo while we're there for a day it'll be worth it!

It never ceases to amaze me how something so extraordinary to see can go unnoticed to parkgoers (I'm refering to the people in the second photo who seem oblivious that there's an elephant on the end of the crane! Nobody is pointing or even LOOKING in that general direction. I would grab myself a snack and watch...all...day...long!)

I was happy to ride Dumbo my first time on the last day in old locale, Jan 8th 2012....for some reason my children never wanted to but the impetus to see over the wall was too great to resist for my youngest. A day earlier we saw the other Dumbo #2 being tested without elephants...spinning around....so I imagine BOTH will be up by March. Dozens of peeps around that area working that we could see from ground on roofs and scafolds....and even more when flying!!:sohappy:

There is a video floating around showing the new spinner with all the Dumbos attached and a rider testing one of the controls.

This is kind of cool... The exif of your first picture says it was shot at 10:51:46 (I'd guess the blackberry is pretty close). My picture of the overall site from exactly the opposite direction was at 10:51:35, according to my camera - which is usually within a couple of seconds of being right.

So, with that...not that this has much to do with WDW exactly ...check this out. I'm pretty sure the woman in the tank-top here (likely walked from that position across the frame):

...is the one in this blown-up version of my 10:51:35 picture, at the arrow:
