DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

Y’all never learn do ya? ;) i was away for time for vacation and also reconnecting with friends that have some input on this. Zootopia streaming has gone up in development and we will see both! For a time zootopia and then a retransition and back to tough to be a bug. Similar to test tracks refresh and return to branding before. Surprised it will go this way but thank you for your patience. Does this clear it up now? No more doubters

But Test Track isn't being replaced with World of Motion, it's being refreshed on someone elses dime and is taking inspiration from World of Motion. I would not be the least bit surprised if that inspiration is very subtle.

Not yet. I’m still studying him. But I’ve narrowed it down to (1) he’s been doing hard drugs for the last 10 years or (2) he’s just *REALLY* stupid. Maybe both.

It's neither: he's screwing with the people who respond. He doesn't believe anything he's saying, he's intentionally saying ridiculous stuff to get reactions. Literally nothing you guys say is going to make him stop arguing this point because that's the joke.

It's like this classic Tumblr exchange where the guy insists sharks are smooth. Except waaaaaaaay less funny (and that guy didn't start out trolling).

Edit: Whoops! Fixed the link; now it's the smooth shark guy.

1) You are simply making assumptions to what he is doing. You may be right or it can just be another wannabe insider like WDWPro who knows absolutely nothing and will continue spewing nonsense that they truly believe.
2) Sharks are indeed smooth. It’s called science.

Despite the spelling, what does that have to do with the current work on The Tree of Life?
I think the idea is that there will be a new
A Bug's Life attraction.

In fact

This would make more sense if your sources were telling you that A Bug's Life would be returning to Animal Kingdom, but not necessarily to the Tree of Life, or that the Zootopia show will move to a new Zootopia land when it opens and be replaced by a revamped A Bug's Life show.

Is there any timeframe on this?
From a director of Zootopia 2:

Sounds like he's involved with the attraction.

Oh.

Sorry to misunderstand.

Now I need to look up ABL's stats...

Tomatometer: 92%
Critics' Score: 78
Audience Score 67
Profit ~$30M

Not a blockbuster, but not unpopular.

In fact, China got a Zootopia land because it is so popular over there.

I'm not arguing that it was well received. And as a 90s kid, I loved A Bug's Life. But the reality is that kids today aren't being brought up rewatching A Bug's Life over and over on Disney+. It simply hasn't had staying power like other 90s animation classics or Pixar films. It was a one and done franchise that hasn't received any love since stopped being sold.

Of all the lengthy time-frames for new attractions, this one makes the least sense. The movie should already be in the can, it's just updating interiors to match it. No reason this should take longer than 2-3 months.
Even if it was just “updating interiors to match” that would be a tight schedule. We know from notices of commencement that there will still be some in-theater effects. Those need to be adjusted and programmed. You need new show controls to run all of that and it doesn’t make sense to keep using legacy equipment from 30 years ago.

Or maybe he genuinely doesn’t understand why people are so worked up.

I agree they will upgrade. But new controls have been problematic, witness splash that went from "never down" with 30 year old magnetic trigger switches to "always down" with 2024 image recognition or whatever they used. ( I know it has improved since opening ) There have been numerous examples of new rides that won't run because of the modern controls.

So to me it could make sense to re-task that legacy equipment since the new stuff seems so finicky. They won't do it but it could make sense. Now if I were king....

All this trolling aside, I'm sure Guest Services is having a nice quiet few days break from hearing about the latest person who had a "fear induced accident" on TTBAB.

The only think more ridiculous then the idea of them bringing this back, is that they would actually have current plans to bring it back.
It’s a process.

Correct more or less that. We are saying the same thing.

I will unregard this and move along.

Correct, I’m not trying to go against it. I’m just saying what it is and will happen
Unless Test Track is becoming World of Motion I don’t see the similarity.
It won’t have cars obviously but think concept only.

Just spitballing, but they really should have a sloth animatronic in the pre-show area. That would be perfect. 😅

It'd win me over just by having an animatronic where one wasn't before.

They definitely will be doing work in that area. Lots of bug specific stuff there and lighting surrounding it (like the dung ball). Will miss it, actually. My DD kept trying to rotate it 😆.

Be funny if it was set up so the next round of guests coming in to the preshow area hear the end of his instructions to the last group ... Like they all filed into the theater and we're gone before he finished instructing them to file into the theater
