Trip Report “Excuse me ma’am, can you put your phone away? Snow White doesn’t like apples” March 2019 *COMPLETED*

Sadly, I’ve been back in the real world for 4 days, but I’m glad to say that it was a great trip! Different, but still great. Surprisingly, the Disney depression is not very high (not sure if that’s a good thing :hilarious:), but I don’t want to take any risks, so let’s get this TR started!

For those of you who are just joining, I’d like to say welcome and feel free to read my PTR for background info.

Before I start, I want to warn everyone that I only have a month left before the semester is over. :joyfull: With that being said, the next 4 weeks might get extremely busy and I may not have a lot of time to post, so please bear with me. I don’t want to drag this TR out like I did with the last one, but I make no promises. :hilarious:

The clock says it all. It was exactly midnight when I got off Pirates.

I was already starting to get that sick feeling in my stomach as I made my way to the hub knowing the trip was pretty much over. :(

I met L and we stopped for a couple more PP pictures, which turned out to be really crappy. :hilarious:

Are those high quality or what? :hilarious:

We slowly began to ease down Main Street.

When we got to the town square, L headed on out. She was tired and ready to get back to Music. It was 12:10, so I had 20mins to do some shopping in the Emporium before the Kiss Goodnight. I looked around for a bit then got what I came in there to get.

The CM who checked me out was extremely nice. She was from South America and was in the DCP, but I can’t remember which country she was from or which school she was attending. Anyways, she saw my birthday button and wished me a happy birthday. She then asked me how old I was. I told her that I’d just turned 19. A few seconds later, she began to tear up. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but she admitted to me that I reminded her of her little brother, who was also going to turn 19 this year. She then went on to explain that she hasn’t been able to see any of her family since she moved to the U.S. 3 years ago and that she really misses them. I felt really sorry for her and thought that I was gonna start tearing up myself. 😢

It still wasn’t quite time for the Kiss Goodnight, so I walked around the town square.

Leaving MK

I took one more look at Main Street before heading out.

When I got to the bus stop, I saw L. Apparently the line was long and she didn’t make it on the previous bus. Luckily, in less than 10mins a bus arrived.

At least I was up front and close to the door.

It was 1am when we got back to Music.

I was exhausted when we got to the room. I attempted to pack up a few things but wasn’t very successful. :hilarious: As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.

Thursday March 21st: Checkout/DS

I think I woke up around 9:30ish. As usual, checkout was at 11 and our ADR wasn’t until 12, so we had some time. Despite not really packing before I went to bed, it didn’t take me too long to get my stuff together. We went ahead and took a few loads to the car.

Before I forget, here’s some pictures of the room.

L and I really liked this picture. We have a Christmas ornament of Donald playing the cymbals that we hang every year. It’s one of our favorites.

As you can see, we had the pump bottles. I can’t remember if our room at Sports last year had them, but I’m assuming that it did.

I didn't even notice that. I'm sure the number of people that use them nowadays is pretty small. They're practically ancient. :hilarious:
Call me ancient but I like having a clock radio in the room. That was the first thing I noticed missing in our POFQ room. Much easier to just look over and see what time it is, but then again I have a flip phone.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

I’m very thankful for the many freedoms and rights that I have along with the privilege to call myself an American. I’m also thankful for the brave men and women who had their fill of King George and decided that it was time to rebel. If it wasn’t for the guts and courage that they had, who knows where we would be today.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun day celebrating our Freedom!

My Great great+++++ grandfather from upstate NY fought in the Revolutionary War. He was a farmer didn't have much but was willing to fight for liberty and freedom
My G-G-G-G-Grandfather fought in the Revolutionary war, too. He was captured and confined in the sugar house in New York for several months before he was exchanged.

Fun fact: The congress voted for independence on July 2nd. The document was dated the 4th of July, and signed in August.

Don’t think I mentioned this earlier, but a Joffrey’s truck came and parked outside our building every morning.

Despite my dislike for Joffrey’s, I thought it was a neat idea. They were also selling pastries along with coffee and tea.

L went to get coffee from the food court while I dealt with the checkout desk.

They had this displayed outside of the gift shop. It was Lion King trivia.
38F41903-4DBB-4BE5-8E2A-EF44DF131EA1.jpeg

I got 4, 5, half of 7, and 9 correct. In other words, I need to brush up on my Lion King knowledge. :hilarious: But to be fair, I’ve never actually sat down and watch the Lion King from start to finish before. Yeah I know that’s like a sin, but it’s true. :hilarious: I am looking forward to seeing the remake in a couple weeks.

So we were going to drive to DS and just leave from there, but we both agreed that it would be much easier if we took the bus. That and I really wanted to take the bus one more time.

Sounds like y’all have some cool family history!

My 5th great grandfather, Captain Henry Felder, actually wrote the Declaration of Separation of the Colony of South Carolina from England in the early 1770s. Sadly it was destroyed in a fire caused by the German Hessians and never made it to the desk of King George. There were copies made but historians have yet to recover any. It’s possible that they might’ve been destroyed as well.

He was a Captain in the S.C. Militia and built numerous cannons. 3 of those cannons have survived and 1 is actually on display at the battery in Charleston. A movie was made about him 10 years ago and went on to win several awards at various film festivals.

I’m also related to the Harrison family.

Benjamin Harrison V: 5th Governor of Virginia, member of the Second Continental Congress, and signer of the Declaration of Independence.

William Henry Harrison: Son of Benjamin Harrison V, 1st Governor of the Indiana Territory, and the 9th President of the United States of America. He holds the record for the shortest term as President. He only served 31 days before dying in office. He also holds the record for the longest inaugural address. (8,445 words)

Benjamin Harrison: Grandson of William Henry Harrison, great grandson of Benjamin Harrison V, and the 23rd President of the United States of America.

So yeah, Independence Day means a whole lot more to my family and I than an excuse to cookout and shoot fireworks.

I have one and use it everyday much to my kids horror!
Me, too! (No kids, but I use my clock radio every day.) :joyfull:

(Captain Barbossa doesn't realize what he's missing.)
I love my regular digital clock and can’t imagine living without it, but I’m not a fan of clock radios. I think that a lot of people, including myself, would rather set an alarm on their smartphone knowing that they will wake up hearing what they want to hear instead of some random song or talk show. I believe that’s why manufacturers have cut back on the production of clock radios and why you don’t see them as much at hotels. But that’s just my opinion.

This financial disaster was coming out next week.

Interesting opinion, and I can understand the reason why you want to wake up, with exactly your preference. As for the hotels cutting back on the clock radios, I see that more as a money-saving idea (even though I'm sure they get a very low price when they buy these in bulk). Just because many people may prefer their smartphones, doesn't mean they have to completely eliminate the clock radios, so that's why I see this as a money-saving initiative only, on their part.
