Nothing coming to Epcot now is as offensive and poorly fitting than that was

What exactly is good? Billions spent physically ripping up the park for ego?The bad news is that Epcot is no longer Epcot. The good news is that Epcot was in disarray before this overhaul, and 2021 Epcot will likely be no worse than 2018 Epcot. We probably shouldn’t pursue purity to the extent that we let perfection be the enemy of good.

Yes, I would prefer they do nothing than spend billions on destruction. Doing nothing would be easier to fix."Good" is obviously subjective. Would you prefer Disney spent nothing and just let the park sit and rot like it is has been for decades? And trust me, I have no love for Iger or Chapek - but the decline of Epcot started long before they came around. Where is Horizons? Where is World of Motion? Where is the original Journey into Imagination? Oh yes, Eisner gutted them and replaced them with mediocrity. The current Disney suits inherited a mediocre Epcot, they didn't create it.

This isn’t the former Epcot Queen now, is it?You asked so I answered you can move along now.

A pavilion left to rot as a festival center is finally becoming an attraction again, an area abandoned in 2015 will be given new purpose, a ride that was laughably out of date in its last 10 years is finally replaced. I can’t imagine anyone will think the Epcot in 2017 was better than the new one will be.Yes, I would prefer they do nothing than spend billions on destruction. Doing nothing would be easier to fix.
It might be a better amusement park but it won’t be a better theme park.A pavilion left to rot as a festival center is finally becoming an attraction again, an area abandoned in 2015 will be given new purpose, a ride that was laughably out of date in its last 10 years is finally replaced. Abandoned buildings=better theme? It might be a better amusement park but it won’t be a better theme park.

A random assortment of the best themed rides is still an amusement park. A theme park is defined at the “neighborhood” level.I think it’s important to clarify you can have well-themed attractions that don’t necessarily “fit” with one’s idea of what the theme of a land or park should be.
The movie Cars has nothing to do with California, but Radiator Springs Racers is still one of the most well-themed rides at any Disney park.
It’s just rumors at this point, but I’ve heard estimates that would peg Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind as one of the most expensive attractions ever built... likely north of $250 million for that attraction alone. My assumption is this will be a heavily themed ride. This is very different from the way an actual amusement park like Six Flags handles IP. If they had the rights to Guardians, they would build a roller coaster for $5 million with no theming and slap the Guardians name on it.
Epcot will remain a theme park, just not your idealized version of it.
And the new Epcot will be divided into several "neighborhoods", each built around a central theme.A random assortment of the best themed rides is still an amusement park. A theme park is defined at the “neighborhood” level.
DHS is Fantasyland. If you look at it this way from how EPCOT is changing it's becoming more of it's own land in itself becoming part of just a big World ..
MK - Fantasyland
EPCOT - Tomorrowland
AK - Adventureland
DHS - Uh.......Movie/IP .....Land???
