    Possible Frontierland expansion

Really, it's more that no substance has been added to this thread since the first 3-4 pages. Then, someone started talking about Splash, which ended up leading to the Speedway/Tomorrowland. Speculation is different from Armchair Imagineering, though. If I posted 10-12 paragraphs about a...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

Pointing out faults in an attraction constitutes Armchair Imagineering? I'm pretty sure someone actually thinking the Speedway is a decent, well-themed attraction because of rose-tinted glasses since they loved it as a little kid creates far more suffering than whatever I post..

    Possible Frontierland expansion

I don't mind the Speedway staying if: it gets a drastic overhaul (electric cars and some sci-fi theming/rockwork) the track is reworked to allow a path/tunnel to a Tomorrowland expansion behind it I don't think wanting the Speedway to be a solid attraction is all that crazy.

    Possible Frontierland expansion

What? I didn't say demolished. I just want something that isn't equivalent to something you can find at a regional amusement park. The only difference is that Fun Spot and LEGOLAND do it far much better. All I want is something semi-futuristic. Gas-guzzling 90s go-karts aren't futuristic...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

Only if the expansion pad behind the Speedway is accessible and they enhance the current Speedway. Is it too much to ask for electric cars and some sci-fi theming for the Speedway? Currently, it's a plain track with 90s go-karts. I wouldn't mind the Speedway if it was a drive through an...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

A flat ride that takes up no space, doesn't smell bad and actually fits its area's theme isn't the same as something that takes up a gigantic footprint, smells awful and doesn't fit its area's theme. The Speedway also blocks a big expansion pad behind it that could fit 3-4 decent-sized attractions.

    Possible Frontierland expansion

Then why can they go experience it at LEGOLAND and Fun Spot if it's so 'futuristic'? ;) Similar to Tokyo Disneyland, the Speedway should be demolished. Then, Fantasyland gets the old Speedway footprint for Wonderland or IASW (not likely, but doing so would open up space by the Tangled...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

...um... Dumbo, the Teacups and the Carousel take up minimal space. I can't see anything on par with POTC/HM fitting in their spots. There's no incentive to replace flat rides with a relatively small footprint. And I disagree. The major attractions shouldn't get replaced until EVERY last...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

Well then that's all I need to know :D Dumbo, the Tea Cups, Astro Orbiter and Carousel are all MK staples until its final day of operation, too. Dumbo has been a part of WDW advertising for decades... it'll never leave.

Bob Iger at WDW now ... BoD to Follow?

Probably why New Frontierland is even being considered. I wouldn't be shocked if we get 2-3 new attractions (one E, one or two Bs/Cs) a new restaurant and the reopening of Horseshoe/Polly's. Plus, revamps for Big Thunder and Country Bears. $500-600 million ought to be enough for that, so long...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Well New Frontierland, an overhaul for Imagination, Pandora and the DHS makeover would be a vast improvement. Imagination is a waste of capacity currently, while the other 3 will hopefully drastically increase their respective parks' total capacities. The 2020s will be much better for WDW if all...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

At this point, closing anything down would be two steps forward, one step back for MK. They're better off expanding as much as they can until they've completely run out of expansion space. Buzz is definitely a draw to Tomorrowland. 50-70 min waits, usually. Especially during a thunderstorm...

    Possible Frontierland expansion

JT04 thinks the 'Southern' theming doesn't fit Frontierland. Really, anything that's backwoods fits decently enough in Frontierland. I doubt the average guest would say Splash is out of place in Frontierland. It's not racism. The ride is a simple, happy-go-lucky adventure with B'rer Rabbit :)...

Bob Iger at WDW now ... BoD to Follow?

Which is why massive expansion over the next 20-25 yrs is a must once the other 3 are up to par. Every expansion pad should have a plan for it, and be prepped for potential construction. Get the infrastructure ready so there isn't hoops to jump through when expanding.

    Possible Frontierland expansion

LOL..... there's someone out there who think Splash Mountain will be rethemed... ever? Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah is the opening song for the MK Welcome show Splash is one of the most iconic E-tickets at WDW As far as guests are concerned, it's an original ride based on a Disney-created folk tale PATF...

    Universal vs. Disney

Plus, Nintendo has an easy-going/cute aspect that appeals to non-gamers... specifically older adults and little kids who aren't the best at gaming yet. Animal Crossing Tomodachi Life Wii Sports Wii Fit Mario Kart Mario Party Super Mario Kirby Pokemon Donkey Kong Country Women seem to...

    Universal vs. Disney

Universal could make a rule that anyone over the age of 7 is forbidden from wearing a costume into the parks, except for Halloween. That would take care of the 'creepy' aspect of the Bronies.

    Possible Frontierland expansion

Assuming it is approved, New Frontierland would most likely get a similar budget as New Fantasyland. Especially if it's supposed to get an E-ticket. Nothing's confirmed yet, but it's apparently somewhat close to a greenlight. If all goes well.
  19. M

    Possible Frontierland expansion

The real reason they're expanding Frontierland is probably because of the bottleneck by Splash/Big Thunder. Nothing to do with 'Frontierland needing an E-ticket'. If they manage to create a new pathway behind Big Thunder/HM, guest congestion would be so much more manageable. I do agree that...

    Universal vs. Disney

To be fair, Universal has/is trying to expand their reach beyond males between the ages of 8 and 30. Despicable Me (you wouldn't believe how many teen girls/women LOVE the Minions....) Hello Kitty (semi-answer to Disney Princesses) Nintendo (most female/kid appeal of any video game company)...
