Spirited News, Observations & Thoughts Tres

While that sounds lovely, we are waiting for our 25th anniversary to do a longer adult getaway....and we're eyeing the ocean instead. I just can't explain how I felt after leaving WDW. I wasn't sorry to go home....the one thing I always wanted to do was have afternoon tea at the GF and I did...

Spirited News, Observations & Thoughts Tres

The ONLY reasoned we suffered through June temps over a week ago is because my older daughter will be a junior in high school next year and is in the marching band. So Aug-early Nov is out, and she is also in the school's concert choir, which basically picks up where band leaves off. We will...

PHOTOS - What happens to the 'Be Our Guest Restaurant' outdoor queue now it's summer?

Saw this last week....at 10:30 the line was all the way over the bridge near Gaston's fountain, and when I asked the CM how long the wait was from there, she said 90 minutes....um, no. Walked over to CHH and had lunch right away before the main lunch rush happened. Theming is nice and all, but...

"Now It's Time to Say Good-bye"

Downsides: ~Already mentioned the weather: lots of rain, and MAJOR humidity. It seemed particularly intense, even for June. While DD and I had a great tea, we got caught in a deluge, without ponchos unfortunately, before our reservations and ended up being 10 minutes late :( I had to make a...

"Now It's Time to Say Good-bye"

I debated about whether to do a full-blown trip report, and finally decided to just do a quick comment or two about our experiences this past week in Florida. Here goes: Players: Myself, DH, DD (16), and DS (11). Our last trip to WDW was 2009, so it's been four years since we traipsed all over...

Sound like we felt the same. Crowds were the craziest we've ever seen at the MK, and there was a lot we weren't able to do, because of that. When Stitch has a 50 minute wait, you know it's nuts. We're halfway home, spending the night in Rock Hill.

I won't be at the meet-up; we changed our plans today and did some shopping at Downtown Disney, and even scored a walk-up ressie to T. Rex for lunch. Plan to spend our afternoon in our pool. Tomorrow we have a character bfast at 1900 Park Fare, then we go to the MK. In my opinion, the summer...

I believe we were over at the Seas at that time; afterwards we rode Living with the Land, and took the boat launch across World Showcase to our lunch ressie at Chefs de France. And I could have sworn I saw @figmentfan423 waiting for her ressie too (large figment stuffy attached to pack?)...

Finally showed up at our townhouse by 6 p.m. Lots of start and stop traffic thru Orlando, plus severe weather from about Sanford, FL all the rest of the way down. Don't know why we never stayed off-property before, because this place is so awesome! Lots of Disney artwork on the walls...

Well, the first part of our journey was not really, that fun - took longer than usual because of three major traffic snarls between Charleston, W.Va, and Virginia. I will say the Drury Inn we are at is very nice, although I hardly slept. Hope to be in Orlando by mid-afternoon.

    Spending money....

We're using garage sale earnings for our spending money this year, so that averages out to about $125/kid, one of whom will blow most of his at the lego store I think ;) DH and I are averaging around 50-65 each. There isn't much I really want, maybe a mug and possibly a bag. I always seem to buy...

So, maybe I'm letting the weather get me down a LITTLE....looks like we'll be driving through the remnants of the tropical storm on Saturday  It's pouring rain here too and they still haven't cancelled band camp this morning. That should be fun for my daughter, as well as all the new...

Seems like the weather down there is in constant flux, isn't it? I'm in denial actually....I don't need the stress. I have laundry DONE, which means time for packing. I'm determined to relax on this trip, no matter what. I'm not marathon sprinting down main street; instead we're trying...

The weather next week, according to my latest accuweather check, is looking pretty average for Florida ~ my body may go into shock however, since it was in the 40s here this morning. I have piles of folded laundry sitting all over my living room while I make mental notes of things to pack...
