I'm sincerely curious, Jordan. What do you see in the Studios park that matches up fairly close with Phantom Manor, Pirates, or Small World. I don't know of anything in the Studios park that has this amount of creativity or depth of execution.
At this point in time, as a life long Imagineering fan, the Disney park that will lose out to Epic Universe is Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Universal park to lose out? Probably the Studios- but I love Dragon Alley. I only have so much time off.
Hopefully, not to open the land until it's fully completed and ready to go. Perhaps make it more lively with character interactions all over from the start. Perhaps some movement in the land to make it feel alive. Lastly, to make the best experiences available to everyone and not as a premier...
This land may be the one I'm most excited about. With the bar raised high by Epic Universe, I'm hopeful Disney does a fantastic job with it. It's their only chance to pull it off well with all the hard lessons they learned from Galaxy's Edge.
Encanto is fun and very unique. Mary Poppins is still an iconic classic. I think the real issue here is that for some folks Lin-Manuel Miranda can do no wrong. I find his work a mixed bag. But your tastes may vary.
With Monsters going into DHS, I would think Zootopia is now moving to AK. If the urban landscapes of Monsters and Zootopia were in the same park, it'd feel like overkill. Especially with Hollywood and Sunset Blvd's there already.
Honest question- Do you think the average park visitor knows and/or cares about the timeline the land is supposed to represent? Or do they just want Star Wars attractions?
