Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

The one thing I always liked about FP+ was that I knew going in I at least had 3 rides confirmed. Was often able to switch around, and if you knew the sweet spot times when availabilities opened up during the day, you could often change things up on the fly (did that often withs Flights of...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I don’t know, getting tired of being nickel and dimed. Not DVC or AP, but down there a lot from 1999 through 2019. I’m not one of those who doesn’t like change, but being in finance I look at everything as $$. Have always stayed on property purely for convenience, and was willing to pay their...

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

Unfortunately Disney is doing what every other company does, give you less for more. Give consumers the same size package but reduce the size of what’s inside (I.e. a can of coffee shrinking down to 13 ozs., 11.5 ozs., etc.). Ever open up a box of ice cream novelties to only see a diminished item?

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

I never really thought of it as part of the magic, but rather the seamless ease to book your vacation directly with Disney. Just click a button and your airport transfers are done. Now it’s going to be another thing you have to think about and book separately.

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

Have been going to WDW since the mid-1980’s. Yes, we survived before ME. However, since that time the other things you expected have fallen by the wayside; free resort parking, length of stay passes with “+ perks” (I.e. water parks, Disney Quest), discounts on watercraft rentals, newspapers...

Anyone know the cost of luggage carts at Orlando International Airport?

On rare times I've needed one, quite often found one unused that someone didn't bother checking back in!

Best way to get to a park early with no car?

Family member was staying at an All Star in January, and had no problem using internal transportation to get to HS in time to get into a boarding group.

I put the cart in front of the horse! Now what

The airport hotel is a Hyatt. As for ME, don't know the exact answer you're looking for, but based on a situation last year I can give you some info. Last year I was returning a Disney intern home from a stay there, and was staying at Coronado Springs. The car we were taking back north via...

No more free bread at table service....

How about an AKL upsell; hunt your own dinner, prep, cook, and eat it!

    PO Riverside Vs Wilderness lodge

We have stayed at both many times. The biggest appeal for us at the WL is the fact that it is a much more compact resort with most everything (not counting the bungalows and the separate DVC building) in one building. Depending on location at PO, you can have a nice hike back to the main...

    Beach Club room location?

Last time there a year ago we were upgraded to Club Level; now that's a nice location!;)

Does the recent Skyliner accident change your mind about staying at a Skyliner resort?

No, but paying a lot more for the availability of the Skyliner would have me thinking twice about staying in one.

    Magic back in the US!

They did that several years back and we did the 8-day Bahamas/Florida cruise. Was great and convenient sailing on Disney from NYC!

    Nomad Lounge - how busy?

Have hit there many times, and generally have not found it crowded; and that includes Summer months, October/November, and January. It has actually become a favorite of ours, especially on hot/muggy summer days!

News My Disney Experience and website to become the only way to make dining reservations

Not sure if this was covered, but I noticed in the recent past that if you were within an hour or less of your desired time you couldn't always see open reservation availabilities on the App. I.e. staying at the Yacht Club and was looking for a last minute reservation in the area, and the app...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

Saw it posted elsewhere and I agree, they should have RFID trackers in each cabin so they locate the exact one (I believe some ski resorts already use them).

Does the recent Skyliner accident change your mind about staying at a Skyliner resort?

Use chair lifts/gondolas all the time when skiing. I would still use the Skyliner, and I would hope that some lessons are learned here regarding operations and future safety upgrades (i.e. RFID tracking of individual cabins; learning why the cabins bunched up in the station, etc.).

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

Ok, thanks! I'm just trying to get a grasp of why the cars would bunch up like some pictures appeared to show. If the power went down and/or they did an emergency stop, wouldn't the cars just stop and not keep moving? From what I've seen and the below video, they're spaced out when they're...

Disney Skyliner shutdown and evacuation - October 6 2019

I have a question that's been bothering me since I started seeing some pictures of the cabins bunched up in the station. As someone who skis, usually at Killington in VT, their gondola cabins have posts that are below the cabin, which when the cabin is in the station it is used to guide the...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I ride ski lifts and gondolas all the time, and rarely does a day go by that you don't get stuck at some point. Sometimes briefly, sometimes it has stretched on for a while. My nephew on one time was on a lift that broke down, and he had to be winched down from the chair to the ground. A lot...
