To those who rode the original 20k under the sea at DW, can you share your experience?

Rode it on my first trip in ‘74. Was totally convinced it dove underwater. Enjoyed the silly serpent face. Thought the floor was wet for some reason. Was a must do on later trips. Very sad when it closed, all the more when it’s replacement was a stupid useless not-a-ride meet and greet.

    At WDW, and I'm Sick

On a trip in February of 2020 I felt like I couldn’t breathe enough to walk more than a few steps. Thought it was just asthma and allergies, so I rented an ECV and did the parks. I was tested afterward for Covid antibodies, and that was negative, so my pulmonologist told me it probably had been...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I can express my opinion and give Disney my input. Of course, it’s not my park, and not my decision. And so far no commission has designated MK or any part thereof a landmark.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Here’s my email. I’m hoping that my overestimate of 40,000 acres will prompt someone to reply, if only to correct me:) Dear Mr. Iger, I am a fellow Oceansider and longtime Disney fan. My first trip to WDW was in August 1974, and I have returned several times since, when finances permitted. I’m...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Don’t they have like 40,000 freaking acres to play with?! Not everyone can handle even the gentlest of attractions. My DH, for example, found the initial dip in Pirates too much for his liking. A mild ride like the riverboat is needed for folks like him, and probably other motion-averse guests...

News New Buses Debut With Features to Better Accommodate ECV/Wheelchair Users

Not to mention the morons who love to cross in front of a moving vehicle! At first, I let off the throttle for them, but after a few very uncomfortable (for me) short stops, I just kept going and hoped they were quick enough to get out of the way.

Let's go to Disney World in 1973

    1. Clothing is due not so much to dress code, but season. Footage was not taken in the heat of July or August. People are dressed for relatively cooler weather for Florida. 2. adults look plenty chunky to me. 3. there was one shot of a grandma in a wheelchair, but yes, just the one.

    Describe an attraction….badly.

You’re told you’re taking an elevator down to the ocean floor, but it’s just the same level of a giant fish tank (now traversed by clamshells)

    Describe an attraction….badly.

You think you’re taking a submarine ride, but you never descend below the surface. (now filled in)

Is the integration of digital technology within Walt Disney World impacting the experience of those with limited digital capabilities?

I’m above the age cutoff, and I totally had my phone in the parks on our last trip in Feb 2020, along with a massive power pack and cable, if for no other reason than to make sure I could stay in touch with my dh in case we got separated. What a blessing it is to have a computer in the palm of...

Phones and Live Streaming on Rides

NO! Just be quiet and pay attention to the attraction! You just stood in line for 2 hours, you should be all talked out!

Will WDW Add Weight Limits to Ride Signage?

Wouldn’t the bilateral OTS prevent the body from rotating around the hypothetical central vertical belt or restraint?

"it's a small world" vs Na'vi River Journey

IASW LOVE the song, have sinc3 I was a child. NAvi looks like a lot of people worked extremely hard to get every detail of the ride right. As though every leaf and blade of grass has some imagineering trivia behind it. But it lacks heart.

    Best ride in Fantasyland?

Small world for the song. Takes me back to my childhood, which suggests I rode it at the 64-65 worlds fair.

    Worst mistake in Epcot history

When Robert Moses insisted on tearing down the pavilions for the 64-65 NY Worlds fair in favor of an empty, useless, stupid park, instead of letting Walt take it over and keep it going on a permanent basis. I have the same nostalgia for the Fair as you all have for original Epcot. My favorite...

[Rumor] Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Olivia Rodrigo

She played the lead in the movie for American Girl’s 2015 Girl of the Year Grace Thomas. “Grace Stirs It Up” I was not impressed. I collect the dolls, and I prefer the doll.
