News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Valet was always on WDW property at DS and operated by the 3rd party company that does it at the resorts. Valet going away had nothing to do with the RCID debacle.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

The subcontractors in the garage have changed a few times since opening - not sure of the lengths of contracts, etc.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

WDW did not and has not ever operated the garages. They have always been operated by the district with subcontractors for security and facilities/cleaning work. Disney has the security screening operating in space leased from the District, but can not go outside of that space.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

A “different opinion” is saying you think WDW shouldn’t re-implement mask requirements. What you are doing is actively posting anti-vax misinformation that can be easily fact checked. You may not want to get past this and go back to normal by getting your shot - the rest of us do.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Someone really needs to kill this thread. There is dangerous anti-vax misinformation in almost every other post.

    News Tomorrowland love

It depends, but for something like this it was likely the parks WDI contact working with horticulture to find something suitable, in theme and in budget. Leaders in an area have zero say over things like this.

Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

Interesting tactic! You are trying to get me to say “yes” and say I know what you are talking about to somehow prove to casual observers that you are an insider that knows this information. Here’s the thing - is there a “system” to stop park hopping when the park reaches capacity? Of course...

Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

This is not even remotely the case and has not been even close to reality since park hopping started. The whole reason park hopping was implemented was to help increase length of stay and drive perception of ticket value. Guests have been consistently leaving earlier than pre-pandemic due to...

News Goodbye to The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra

While it is a bummer to see any entertainment cut, I would recommend if you are bored to dig super deep into the WDWMAGIC archives to look at the posts about entertainment cuts after 9/11 and to a lesser extent after the 2008 recession. Entertainment was DECIMATED during those lean times and...

News Holidays 2020 at Walt Disney World

There will not be the usual amount, but there is a conscious decision to keep it outwardly similar. Will people here notice cutbacks. FOR SURE. Will the casual guests notice cutbacks in their pictures? Unlikely.

News Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon to remain closed until March 2021

Are they profitable? Yes. Are they as profitable as the parks, Disney Springs, resorts, etc - no. Have to look at the whole picture though - things like water parks encourage people to extend their vacation, stray less from property, etc. Staffing is a BIG reason they are currently closed...

News Holidays 2020 at Walt Disney World

That is incorrect. There will be larger decor pieces installed for Christmas. Not the full package but it will be a good amount especially at the MK and Disney Springs. Unrelated - but the folks who install the decor are 95% contracted labor - mostly BVCC and a mix of other contractors. Not...

    The Red Button Option

Disney Springs has ALWAYS been empty on weekdays at lunch. It’s 100 degrees out in the shade my dude. The actual facts are that the majority of Disney Springs has done surprisingly well since reopening and continue to see increasing numbers (both financial and guests) each week.

    The Red Button Option

Just a friendly word of warning - be careful who you assume are reliable sources of company information. Not everyone who claims to be an insider actually is. Some are just good at spinning stories which get a lot of traction and interest.

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

It was a *very* different era in the company. The economy was trash before 9/11 and then that made it worse. Disney was releasing direct to video animated movies like Lady and the Tramp 2 and Hunchback 2 like they were going out of style. Not saying it makes it right, but context is...

    The Red Button Option

Incorrect. Certain parts of property have been. Not the property as a whole. That may change with two additional parks open - but it is not the case as of now.

    The Red Button Option

There has never been any plan called the “secure circuit” and there was never a plan just to keep MK and the monorail resorts open. You continue to push vague conjecture based on news reports of the day and for those of us who actually do work in the company and know what’s going on - it’s...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I could show you many articles about the inaccuracy of salaries on Glassdoor (since it’s user submitted and not verified) or tell you my years of personal experience... but I don’t think you will listen. And yes - finance managers and marketing managers make slightly more than leaders in the...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

wut? Lol. The majority of the folks making over 100k a year at WDW are director level and above. Hardly would consider that “middle management”. There’s an awful lot of folks living in Windermere / Winter Garden / Hamlin who are VERY “house poor” - and quite a few (some of who I know personally)...

What to Watch Going Into the Earnings Report

So the *very* specific (and incorrect) info you posted about WDW opening, mask details including name dropping a random WDW exec, amount of attendance of MK at reopening, etc - that was all surmised by you due to a lack of purchasing orders? OK.
