This is where I’m at as well. From my end it sounds like the decision is made. I have it on very good authority that the offices are being cleared out as we speak. Also hearing that while Muppets isn’t safe long term in the short term the grand ave area will be getting some muppet themed...

I don’t think it’s as much an impasse as it was before. Like I said momentum has swung HARD towards AC over the past 36-48 hours.

FWIW, even if that guy and his office isn’t related, it does seem like momentum has significantly moved towards Monsters going in AC behind the scenes.

I think an indoor coaster would better capture the horror elements of the franchise. But I would take a buzz retheme as well!

I would love an Alien/Predator/Alien vs Predator indoor coaster in a similar vein as Mummy over at Universal. But a revived alien encounter with Alien proper would be quite wonderful too!

Yeah that’s the 2026 project. The current rumored timeline for them is 2025 - EU 2026 - Rockit replacement 2027 - EU expansion 1 (Luigi’s Mansion) 2028 - Zelda in IOA 2029 - EU expansion 2 (Potter or Monsters) 2030 - Pokemon in USF’s current Springfield location

Uni might give them up a year or two early actually. Rumor on the Universal front is they want to put Pokémon in the current Springfield area and they want it open 2030.

Alicia has also said if they go with the Muppets area the land will have a show, or at least a second attraction of some sort.

I’ve heard that they wouldn’t need to touch Mermaid right away and would leave it running for around a year or so after starting construction if they go with AC. But yeah, I think part of the problem is that they really want something else for the AC plot.
