    Resort Pool Hopping

I pool hop while using last year's refillable mug and parking at the Poly to go to MK to sneak my 3-year old in as a 2-year-old so I can take flash pictures on dark rides with a Brazilian tour group.

New book about the land-grab for WDW in the 60s

Oh, it's fantastic! Lots of newspaper clippings and such that really help you get an idea of the excitement of what people were feeling as-it-happened. Turns out the Disney organization and some of the media at the time were tight as toast so they kept quiet; doesn't hurt that one of the big...

How many of you will buy a "Premier Pass"?

Those renewing their WDW APs are getting 15 months rather than 12 as a "gift" from the company.

New book about the land-grab for WDW in the 60s

Yep, well-familiar with that one. :D I'm hoping this one will be more narrative-based; the Promises and Problems relies on a lot of newspaper clippings (which is quite cool in its own right, I might ad).

The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion CD

Off the top of my head, no... it was made "back in the day." You would, however, probably like "Walt Disney Takes You to Disneyland." It's primarily a music soundtrack thing, but Walt sort of narrates a walk through the lands along the way.

Iger shoots down idea of Dreamfinder return to JII

Reminded me of a guy we used to have on the UGA campus named "Bathrobe Billy." Extremely intelligent, but he always wore a terrycloth bathrobe over his clothes and he had all the social skills of a bucket of mop water, and would always belabor a point till no one cared.

Iger shoots down idea of Dreamfinder return to JII

Who wouldn't be. It was like a freaking manifesto. I love D&F, and even I wanted the guy to STFU.

Neat article on the construction of WDW in 1971

New book about the land-grab for WDW in the 60s

'cause hey, if there's one more thing you need, V, it's another book around the house. :lookaroun At the rate it's going, I think I'm going to have to knock down a wall to make room for the ever-expanding BLIADEG (Brkgnews Library & Institute for Advanced Disney/Exposition Geekdom) :D

New book about the land-grab for WDW in the 60s

Hey, gang. For those of you librarily-minded (yep, just made that word up -- I'm looking at you, marni1971 and jerlev), I just stumbled onto a new book about the massive undercover land purchase operation that Disney undertook to secure enough property for WDW. It's called "Project Future,"...

Glad y'all are enjoying it. Evan: I don't have that Brinkley piece in video form, but there is a similar article in print form, written by a New York magazine columnist)...

Neat article on the construction of WDW in 1971

Stumbled upon this today from a 1971 Popular Mechanics magazine. Read the full article on Google Books... http://bit.ly/dgXJJi Or glance at a couple of scans from the seven-page article...

    Mickey's house isn't staying

Wouldn't surprise me if Mickey and Minnie wound up with little "vacation cabins" in Fantasyland Forest or something. You know... DVC treehouse villas. :lookaroun

    Should EPCOT's dolphins be released?

Kyle: "Dude, dolphins are intelligent and friendly animals." Cartman: "Intelligent and friendly on rye bread with some mayonaise." Having said that :lookaroun, you can't comprehend the grace or beauty of a creature completely without seeing it in the flesh. I've seen pictures of whale sharks...
