I beg to differ. Take a look at the video I posted above. People on the ride are mocking and laughing at the Ariel figure. They certainly noticed it was malfunctioning.

So it's poor maintenance, then? Good grief, do the suits in charge of WDW really believe that guests can't tell that Ariel's mouth isn't working, and how bad that looks? It's been a while...but didn't Iger once brag on a corporate phone call that he'd cut the maintenance budget for the parks...

If I may digress... I am absolutely delighted that the animated film "The Boy and the Heron" has apparently earned 12.8 million at the U.S. box office and debuted at number one. Why am I so delighted? Because it's a Hayao Miyazaki film - and Miyazaki created one of my favorite animated films of...

I'm asking because I'm horrified about the condition of the Ariel animatronic in the beginning of the ride - the one who sings "Part of Your World". Apparently, it started malfunctioning some time ago and has never been fully repaired. In the video below, you can see how bad the figure was...

So...it DID move? Because when I first rode the Mansion as a kid, I could swear I saw the candelabra tilt and bob up and down...

Well, of course Hattie's placement is just awful, as it does disturb the Mansion's narrative. But then, today's Imagineers have no respect for that anyway. The Mansion was designed so that, when guests enter it, they pause in the foyer, watch the portrait change, and listen to the voiceover...

Am I mistaken, but did the candelabra used to actually move at one time? Not just float, but move?

Disney has to continue with animation, or else it has nothing to offer consumers other than Iger's acquisitions, which at present aren't too healthy either. What would be nice is if Iger would finally learn the lesson. And show it. A good start would be if he did a major purge in his corporate...

Welp. This thing was originally projected at 50 million 5-day too. And even that wasn't that great. We'll have to see what this flick does in overseas box office, to see if it even has a chance to break even. Frankly, I doubt it.

Huh...there's an idea there. A great idea. If Disney made a full-length Disney Multiverse movie, expanding on Once Upon A Studio (which is freaking great), I wonder if that wouldn't be a big hit. I sure as heck would go see it. AS LONG AS IT WAS JUST DISNEY ANIMATION - no Pixar, no Star Wars...

Movie trailers exist to interest customers in a film. If a movie trailer fails to do that, it doesn't get my time and money. Unlike some, I have a life. :cool:

Wow, this thing's arriving with a splat. Can't say I'm surprised, given its trailers. Bland girl trying much too hard to be adorkable, rubber-doll CGI animation, smirky goat making butt jokes, sure seemed like a fail to me. But it's early yet. The important thing is the box office. We'll see.

Saw quite a few bits of this on Youtube. SPOILERS AHEAD. Pretty clever overall. Had a nice moment with Mickey gazing wistfully at a picture of Walt while "Feed the Birds" music played in the background. It'd have been more poignant if the idiots running Walt's studio now didn't feel the need...
