Grand Floridian Resort restaurants, shops and courtyard pool to close for refurbishment this year

It looks like the game room took over the Mouseketeers Club site. Has this been relocated or is Disney getting out of the baby sitting business?

    Rest and Relaxation

Wake up after sleeping in for a little. Eat a nice breakfast. (If at the GF I always get the Eggs Benedict from the GF cafe) Then go to the pool for some morning sun. The kids love the pool at this time as it is not very crowded. My wife and I love it because it is quite. We then sometimes...

    High Tea

Zurgandfriend hit the nail on the head. The garden view tea room offers a really nice tea service. It is definitely of higher quality then most high teas services i have been to in the U.S. and Canada. I unfortunately have never been to the U.K. so I can not compare it to the real thing...

    Curious Response to Complaint

I have had an experience with a follow up phone call. I spoke with a gentlemen named Jason who was as excited to speak with me as most people are getting a root canal. He gave me the same caned word for word response as you normally receive in an email. I when I asked him a follow up question...

    Unofficial Guide or Birnbaum's

I like the unofficial guide. It give you honest opinions without the "official" Birmbaums Disney approved kool-aid. If something is not as good as the next, the unofficial guide will tell you. The official guide is good for a basic description of every ride restaurant and resort, but don't...

Grand Floridian Resort restaurants, shops and courtyard pool to close for refurbishment this year

I am as well. Especially with the decision to basically shrink the courtyard pool with zero entry. Hundreds of new guest and reduced swimming area is going to lead to very crowded and unconformable pool areas. I know they had little room in the area they place the DVC but did they even think...

Grand Floridian Resort restaurants, shops and courtyard pool to close for refurbishment this year

Did the new Gasparillas take over the Mickey Mouse Club area? Or did they just update the MMC as well? Is it reopened? Sorry for the million GF questions. Just a big fan and want to know if the GF will continue to have the amenities I have come to enjoy.

Grand Floridian Resort restaurants, shops and courtyard pool to close for refurbishment this year

Thanks for the update. Do you happen to have any pictures? Did you happen to hear where the games are going to go? Do you see anything happening with the courtyard pool?

    Spruce up your favourite resort.

At the Grand it would be a big beach with swimming! That would instill a fantasy of a classic Florida (or SoCal) beach resort. Wait they already had and removed that didn't they LoL. In reality, I would love to see some old fashion family type games such as croquet or bocce. I feel it...

    Grand Floridian Café

Defiantly one of the best keep Disney secrets for Breakfast. If you like Eggs Benedict there is no better place. Also, the Lobster Eggs Benedict are amazing. Other offering are also very tasty. I eat here at least twice for Breakfast whenever I am in Disney World.

    BEER

I always enjoy a Smithwick's at Ragland Road. I also enjoy the Big River Grille and Brewing Works. It has the best hand crafted beer. I love sipping on one while people watching on the Boardwalk. It is also neat to see the large copper tanks they make the beer in.

    The Ultimate Wings.

I also love them hot, but we normally settle on medium. It a good compromise for the family. I always ask for them crispy and saucy. Leaving them in the frier for an extra minute or two really makes a difference on texture. I love a little crunch! Nothing worse then soggy wings!
