Rest and Relaxation

Well, my favorite way to relax is to take a break at the room in mid-afternoon. But, when it comes to at the park, anything involving a seat and ac/shade. Muppets 4D is a favorite, SE and one or two games after, a dole whip and a seat next to Adventure Land bridge to people watch, a MS Bakery cinnamon roll with coffee and a table next to window to people watch:)

We hit one park in the morning, have lunch then head to the hotel to take a short nap and hang at the pool. Then we are refreshed to stay late in the parks. We also try to plan a table service for lunch to rest. We also make sure to have a glass of wine or two with our table service meals, when available.

Wake up after sleeping in for a little. Eat a nice breakfast. (If at the GF I always get the Eggs Benedict from the GF cafe) Then go to the pool for some morning sun. The kids love the pool at this time as it is not very crowded. My wife and I love it because it is quite. We then sometimes take a stroll around the resort and take time to really enjoy the architecture and the atmosphere. We also do a little shopping at both our resort and at the neighboring resorts. As you probably figured by now I am a huge GF fan. I stay there whenever I can. This resort is great for people watching. My wife sometimes gets a massage while I watch the kids. Or sometimes a quick nap to get us ready for the night. Finished off with a nice relaxing lunch either on the beach or by the marina. After this we are ready for the parks. It works out because a lot of people are leaving at this time for their mid day breaks.

lol, really. never had one. im not even sure what it is. i dont really have one thing i do to relax, thats what the vacation is for. to me, worrying about wait times, crowd levels, showtimes, ride breakdowns, that is relaxing, cause im at disney. but if there is one thing i do, (more of a tradition) to "relax" as you would call it, is to goto sosa cigars the first day, get a really good one, get a bottle of wine, (i rarely drink, so a bottle to me is like a quart of tequilla, lol) grab a glass, and got the resorts jacuzzi late at night, with noone around. nice glass of wine and a good cigar is livin it up for me.

on a side note, another pastime everytime i go is seeing how many resorts conceirge level i can get to. i love cheese, and if i get into them i go right for the cheese tray. in a world started by a mouse, i dont think they would mind too much, lol

This is something I'm still trying to figure out for myself how to do. I get caught between the thought of "we're only here for 8 days so we need to maximize!!! We need to ride every ride we can and see every character we can and eat at every restaurant we like, etc. etc. etc. because we won't be back for 18 months!!" and the feeling of "I'm exhausted..." My only solution to this problem is...(bah bah da da) to go for more days. Needless to say, my husband does not think highly of my "solution."

In all seriousness, though (and this is what I say to my husband): if we went for 9 days instead of 8, I would be more compelled to take a day off. To just rest because the MK takes us at least 2-2 1/2 days to really do all we want to do. Epcot is also a 2 day park for us. AK we can do in 1 and HS we can do in 1. So that's 6-6 1/2 days. However, while we're technically there for 8 days, 2 of those are travel days - so we can't really spend quality time in the parks. So, that leaves us 6 "quality" days which means that every day is devoted to a park. If we had 7 quality days, then I'd feel better about just having a day in the middle to have nothing planned and just do whatever we want and R.E.L.A.X. And....if we're doing 7 quality days, we might as well do 8 quality days and then go to a water park :p

If we take a full week we schedule a down day. Sleep in, enjoy the resort, go for a walk, have a long lunch. Otherwise, there is no relaxing. If you want a relaxing week, go to the Hilton Head resort. Love that place.
