If we’re going with the stance that the CDC makes health recommendations and does not play a role in public policy, then technically all the CDC did was state that vaccinated people can go unmasked - which is obviously a sound health statement. Yes, there’s concerns about how to distinguish...
I don’t think masks work well at all, but I gladly wear them inside just to play along, follow the rules and to be courteous. But I think people who have been responsible and chosen to get the vaccine have earned the privilege to be unmasked outdoors.
I think we can mostly all agree FastPass+ was a broken system. I’m sure Disney will reintroduce something at some point, but I doubt it’s ready to go in the near future.
I get it. The resort thing is attractive. Eventually, I got to the point where I said “Ya know, Florida doesn’t have anything quite like Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Sequoia, Laguna Beach...” the list goes on.
Fortunately it’s a hypothetical situation. But yeah, we would’ve had to have come up with some kind of middle ground. You can’t keep kids out of school for ten years. Any notion that we could have eradicated COVID in this country or somewhere like Western Europe without a vaccine is just a...
I agree, I just think it says something about how lethal these viruses really are for children that the death rate for the flu is just as bad amongst kids even though there’s a vaccine.
It could be closed long enough to affect the children emotionally, or to impact their life in meaningful ways. It was always hard for me to buy in when people said “it’s just temporary restrictions,” because those same people would have been perfectly fine with those restrictions being permanent...
My daughter is still wearing a mask at school since it’s the rule, and I’m not fighting it. It is what it is. I’m just saying, for most kids COVID is either asymptomatic or similar to having a cold or mild flu. I go by that data when making tisk assessments. I’ll get my kids vaccinated when...
Keeping your kids safe is a risk-based decision, and pursuing absolute safety at any cost isn’t necessarily good parenting. The safest thing would be for my kids to never leave the house, but we don’t do that obviously. Many people have chosen for their kids to not go to school and not see their...
I don’t want my child to even get a bad night of sleep, because I don’t want anything unpleasant for them. But we can’t base public policy on trying to avoid kids getting the sniffles.
I’m aiming for Disneyland in October. If the rule is still in place and my 7-year-old hasn’t been permitted to get the vaccine - I’ll just suck it up and wear a mask too. I’d feel like a jack*** making her wear one and not doing the same.

On paper I would think the same as you, but the data seem to potentially show otherwise. Not that I have a lot of faith in the WHO, but they seem to believe asymptomatic spread is...
That’s true, it follows patterns but I mostly meant that community transmission was still relatively high last summer - compared to the flu, at least. Flu is nearly nonexistent in warmer months while COVID certainly was still a presence. I feel you’re trying to argue a technicality when you...
So adults can just lie about their vaccine status and walk around unmasked, meanwhile 3-year-olds have to wear them? This is not science. We’re the only country in the world with a restriction on children that young. Stay home if you’re scared of the toddlers, folks.
