    knowledge please

I was there for hurricane Jeanne, and here's exactly what happened: We got there the morning before it was expected to hit, and with most current guests getting out early, and alot of cancellations or people not able to get in, that day at the parks was very dead. The only signs of a storm...

    The perfect age???

As others have said, I think it really depends on how often you go overall. If you're the type of people that go every two years no matter what, then the answer is probably around 12 - 18 months, because you're not that concerned about your kid not being able to go on rides and get the full...

Candlelight dinner package - which narrator and restaurant did you choose?

I wouldn't really say we CHOSE the narrator, but the one that will be there while we're there is David Robinson. We were elated that we got our preferred reservation at Le Cellier at 5:10 for the 8:15 show on 11/24.

    Dining Reservation Thoughts.

On your MGM day, I wouldn't agree with switching from Flying Fish to ESPNZone. They're not even in the same league. Flying Fish is fine dining and ESPN is pub grub. Not that it's not good pub grub (trust me, I eat there), but if you're looking for a nice night out with 4 adults, that will be...

how many more days for you?

98 days. Getting out of triple digits was huge for some reason, even though there's still more than three months to go.

    Resort tax increase

We actually received a letter from WDW a few days ago alerting us that the taxes were increasing in September, so yes, it's true.

    GP Discounts out!

I would advise anyone that has a trip planned during that period to at least call and see what they can get. We had a week booked in a standard room at the Boardwalk around Thanksgiving and for $6 LESS, we were able to upgrade to a waterview room. Not a huge savings, but it's something and...

    New Disney Visa Discount!!!!!

Anyone with a package booked in the Fall should at least call and see what they can get. For us, it wasn't much but we had a standard room booked at Boardwalk for a week around Thanksgiving and got upgraded to a water view room for $6 less than we were paying for the standard room.

No ADRs for after the Candlelight Processional

Yeah, we started dialing in right at 7am and got through after maybe 10 minutes on hold. We were able to get what we wanted though - 5:10pm at Le Cellier for the 8:15 show on 11/24.

    Trip Canned

I still haven't gotten a very clear picture of these parents. You said they didn't let her get a job. What was the reason? And how exactly did they stop her? What's the implied threat here?

    Park Hopper?

If it were just you and your daughter going, I'd say you definitely don't need the park hopper, since your child is going to find more than enough to entertain herself at one park per day. With a group, you may want to consider it, since it may make it easier to ensure that you see everything...

    Trip Canned

While I personally don't agree with her parents' decision, I'm guessing alot of it has to do with their personal beliefs of morality or what-have-you, so I have to respect that. And while your GF is legally an adult, in reality you're not a complete adult until you no longer depend on your...

    Blizzard Beach vs. Typhoon Lagoon?

My guess is kids probably prefer BB, for it's "thrill" slides, while adults would prefer TL, for it's more natural, tropical setting. TL does have a couple thrill slides, though, so unless I was getting major feedback from my kids toward BB, I would pick TL.

    Trip calender???

Yeah, I did one in Excel as well, to lay in the definite things we wanted to do (dinners, MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, etc.) and make sure we would still have time and flexibility that we wanted overall. It was a big help.

New/Old Maps of Backstage MGM Area

Regarding the "backstage tour," is it now literally getting into the tram, travelling to the canyon, and then travelling back? What else is there for them to show you? I understand it makes sense to get rid of the "neighborhood" if you aren't filming stuff there anymore, but the bigger...

    One Day-One Park ticket $71!!!

Plus, you can't just increase prices when you're "hurting." Disney parks were relatively "hurting" after 9/11, and raising prices only would have made it worse. You price things as high as you can get away with, so that it doesn't sting as much when you have to lower them for whatever reason.

So out of curiousity on your trip where have you booked for breakfast, lunch , etc.?

Flying Fish, Spoodles, Le Cellier, Wolfgang Puck's, and Sci-Fi Dine-in

    Toddler time

Yeah, I don't have kids but I think the general advice of follow your kids is the way to go. You can't go in thinking you know what your kid is going to love, or worrying about them seeing everything. If they want to spend an hour looking at the flowers, so be it. And even I, at 35, need a...

New/Old Maps of Backstage MGM Area

There should be a board to post scans of old maps. I love those things. Even when I was a kid I loved taking one for myself to look at the whole park in all its splendor. By the way, what was "L" on that older map? I didn't go to the Studios before 2002.
